I hate to admit it but ever since i seen the trailer on gta online single has gone completely from my mind...in other words i just want gta online. Some games are best played in single player instead of multi player. Multi player always ends up feeling like you are forced to play a particular game even if you have already lost interest in it, just because friends you play games with haven't gotten bored yet. Even if GTA online becomes an endless experiecne, single player will at least have replay value a few years down the road because IMO, VC and SA are still very playable to this day. I prefer single player to online, to be honest. I like the new stuff they added to online, but what's so appealing about it? It's not even the story-mode of single player that attracts me, but rather the non-laggy free roam abilities. There has never really been anything that appealing to me about multiplayer/online. I like to go there for the occasional classic online modes like racing/cops and crooks, etc. But at the end of the day GTA established itself as a single player open world. It's just the prospect of living in gta as yourself and advancing though it to the point where you have a crib and a garage that grabbed me. However, I'm still looking forward to single player because of the three characters and missions that will probably be insane because of it. To me single player looked awesome the whole time, (and still does) but when R* dropped that bomb of an online trailer revealing that almost all of the great things we can do in single player can also be done with (or against) friends online, it changed my whole perspective on the game. Sure there are probably some really cool heists that you can do in single player that won't be online and switching between 3 characters freely is very interesting, but the fact that I get to mold my own protagonist from head to foot however I see fit with what I believe will be quite a deep character creator and basically live out his life in both insanely minute and overwhelming detail, complete with a bevy of online exclusive modes like the promising deathmatch/race editor, just pushed the single player out of my mind for good. That being said I'm VERY glad that online doesn't unlock until October so I get a chance to experience and hopefully complete what could be the most intriguing single player in GTA history.
