If its just cosmetic, it will be a pointless feature and I would rather it not be in the game as it will just influence the kids to be more obnoxious than they already are. NICE BRO, have fun being virtual high, while im smoking this blunt. i understand that it brings a sense of realism into the game but i dont like how all these kids are posting topics about how stoned they are gonna be with franklin. note: i understand if it affects gameplay fine. but i dont see how rockstar is gonna pull this off. i mean smoking doesnt affect a person that much, i remeber when i was 12 thinking bright colors everywhere f*cking robot unicorns coming from the sky, because thats how it was portratied in movies. but no. it doesnt make that much of a difference in real life. this topic was made for the sake of the forums, im sick and done of seeing weed topics. so mods if you wanna lock this go ahead but it wont help the forums if you do. I agree, i think it is a stupid feature in the game and highly unnecessary. I also find it stupid that everyone is so obsessed with getting high. All of the other GTA's had a protagonist that was actually very opposed to drug use and this created some interesting scenarios and themes. For example, Vice City is essentially just Scarface except the protagonist Tommy Vercetti doesn't become addicted to his own product like Tony Montana does and as a direct result is able to actually win the final battle instead of getting mowed down in a hail of gunfire. San Andreas is another good example of a GTA where the protagonist is also opposed to drug use. CJ refuses every offer of drugs in the game. It's not even possible to buy off the street dealers in the game even when giving a positive response. When CJ burns The Truth's cannabis farm he complains about the drug effects. I haven't played all of GTA 4 but I'm pretty sure that Niko was anti-drug too. I think I remember him complaining when that Jamaican guy is smoking weed whilst in the car with you. Anyways, I just found it odd that R* would suddenly make drug use possible. I'm not actually too sure I like it. The previous games felt like they were above it. Yes I would actually See whether or not it's stoners who take their love for weed a bit too far suggesting we be able to customize bongs in the game for whatever reason, or it's very young kids who want to be cool who have never had a chance to do it irl, I would leave those topics open provided there isn't five topics with the same bullsh*t. They're harmless. This topic though, is useless hate. You see my point? This. Whats the problem? Some people want a realistic steak in GTA V. We call it "dope" among other things which is another word for heroin. Also, KIDS SMOKE A LOT OF WEED TODAY. I too think these topics are kind of abundant and there should be less talk about 'cause in a way it seems like it's encouraging people to do drugs. I'm also sure R* doesn't wan't to get caught up in some stupid media outrage either. I think it's pretty tame though. If we start going to clinics and GTA for methadone then yeah WAYY too far eh. Hence medical marijuana. There's no way someone could replicate the side effects of marijuana through a video game mainly because it's not visual, but mostly mental. In this day and age, everything is censored to hell so it's good to see that Rockstar aren't on their knees sucking off the people out there who scream "I'm offended" at anything fun. As far as actual in-game smoking goes, it might be interesting to see the effects and benefits from it. Other than that, not a big feature but I'm so glad that it's in.
