Quick question (legality)

Okay, I have a copy of Nascar Racing 2003 Season (Sierra/Papyrus), only problem is the CD is unfortunantly missing, is it legal to aquire a ISO and burn it since I do have the packaging and installation code?

 

I could be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that the installation code is the most important part, since you cannot install or play the game without it. I don't remember if the game has online play, but I do know I've never registered it online.

 

Or is that illegal? I was looking to sell it but I don't know that the jewel case with install code is worth anything, and I do not want to get in trouble for selling it with a burnt copy.

 

The game with CD (just jewel case with CD) goes for ~$80+ usually on Ebay.

The grey-area of seeking out a torrent of the ISO should not be understated, though - it could land you in a pile of trouble if your ISP is the sort that reports.

Okay, so the actual game CD is just a collectable type-thing? Really odd it's up for legal download.

 

 

Since it's easy and legal to aquire the installation, I'm not sure if I want to re-install it, or see if it's worth anything without the CD. I remember the game being awesome, but I don't know if that is just nostalgia, or if it really is great.
