Nah, those are the types of place's where people with lives tend to frequent. I think some of you people blow the whole 'V section is the plague of these forums' way out of proportion. Kirsty Posted August 22, 2013 Share Posted August 22, 2013 The V section gets the worst of the worst from the Internet because it's what 99% of our signups register for, to talk endlessly about the game that is only a month away without wanting to conform to being mature about it or being able to discuss with more than one paragraph about every little detail. Bearing in mind that fans of the game are also getting younger and younger too and social media platforms that promote the shortest sentences possible. I don't know exactly what people expect knowing this. In an ideal world, smilie or gif only posts would be erased and posts from people who think they can be downright assholes would be hidden, but it's impossible. You wouldn't believe how many people are warned and banned on a daily basis, and still there is not a huge difference. A lot of immature members actually change their ways when we give them a stern word, but most don't learn simply because they don't care what the rest of the community thinks. I'm still a believer of if we did an experiment where everyone from the general sections actually posted and contributed, then the quality would increase and there would be a true expectation for better posting in there. It's rare to see people actually understand what you say, and I used to just come here for the news. But lately I'm bored because it's summer break so I'm on here too much. One day I had 126 posts.. And I too thought it was respectable, but having read a few posts before giving up, most of it was still sh*t. Sure you got topics like the London Dossier or the Carcer City one, but the majority of the topics were absolute trash. Same thing applies to the V forums. Quiet, Facts, debate, mature discussion, calm, mountains of information and current events, punishment for yelling (even if over the internet). Think of the V section as a prison. Unjust hate, bigots, people who don't belong in society (for the most part). Difference in opinion leads to arguments and hate, as well as a large amount of disbelief. But you're right, complaining about the V forum does nothing except bring discussion about how bad the V forum is into general chat, and nothing can be done about everyone's complaints that isn't already being done by the mods and forum leaders in there. That section at this particular point in time is a zoo. No debating it. It will only get better with time. The IVums was sh*t too right before release. It's a cycle. Forum gets opened for new GTA. New GTA gets announced and sh*t hits the fan. No info for a long time and it dies down. Trailer is released and people come to the forums. No info and it dies down. Trailers and info get released and the forums get more populated everyday Release date gets close and the gates of hell open up. Game is released and a couple months later the forum is dead again besides members who are here just because they enjoy it. It's the f*cking circle of life here in these forums.
