Hot Swap/Switch Seats while in a moving vehicle?

Haven't read anything about it, but I figure I'll often be the driver so...

 

If someone makes a mistake and gets in the front seat, should we have to pull over during a hot pursuit to swap?

My driver is driving high speed with the police chasing us... But then someone takes him out, straight headshot. Me and my crew mate look at each other. Thinking this is it. Wouldn't it be better to pop open the car door, making the driver roll out. Then take over the wheel?

Good point. Didn't even think of that. My main issue was with everyone living, but your driver/best navigator is in the back seat and the guy with the most ammo is driving.

That just sounds like piss poor planning. If I had a getaway driver, he'd be behind the wheel. And the guy with the most ammo would be in the backseat blasting everything behind us.

Yes it would be a good feature to have for those moments when your plans have gone awry and you feel like switching while you're driving. At least the guy in the back seat should be able to switch sides.

 

It's not a big deal if you can't though.

I'm trying to remember how it was done in RDR's stagecoach. If the driver was shot the passenger would push him off and take the reins. Cant remember if you could swap left and right in the back seat. I don't think you could.

 

Having front passenger take the wheel if drivers shot would be great. (Don't remember may have been in GTA IV)

Switching sides in the backseat would be a bonus.

Swapping from back seat to front seat. Not so much. I tend to see that as bad planning, and a situation where bailing and running or physically getting out and pulling the body from the front seat is the preferred option.

That would be a really cool feature, also it would be sweet if you have a a truck and you have a couple guys in the back with rocket launchers to protect you.

My favorite memory of GTAIV multiplayer revolves around being chased (me on a motorcycle) by four dudes in a car.

 

Ditched the bike around a corner, took cover, shot the driver up, then killed the passengers before they realized why the vehicle was no longer moving. All three of them kept blasting until they ran out and had to reload, so I just kept waiting for that sound and popping out to waste one.

 

Thus, I vote no hot swap. I must recreate my favorite memory.

You have to agree to the swap. Borderlands has already implemented the feature.

I'd rather this than be a duck-on-wheels when something happens to the driver.

 

Or play rock-paper-scissors with the other passenegers to decide who gets to be the speed bump and bail first.
