Disc or Download?

I was on youtube and saw a video comparing the load times of the disc version and the PSN download version of The last of us. In this video the result was that the downloaded version loaded the game in 13 seconds and you are able to play the game while the disc version lags miserably behind. We know that if you buy the disc Version of GTA V (or any another game) for ps3, You would only be able to install half of the game on the ps3 (8GB), leaving another 8GB forced to be loaded by the bluray. Loading games on bluray is much much slower than from the hard drive. So that means that DownloadeD version of GTA V should be faster.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCz1cq8Hhpwu

After watching this video, Do you feel that you would have a "2nd rate" or corrupt experience of GTA V? Have you changed your mind of getting the disc version?

Disc.

You don't get the full experience with a download. That feeling of ripping open the plastic, slitting the seal, smelling the beautiful scent of the manual, pushing that disc pop slot and inserting that bitch in the console!

I really don't care how long the load time is.

I prefer Disc over download. I'm still getting GTA V Special edition but I'm trying to get a friend to get GTA and I got him going for the Download version ONLY cause of the 75% off any other Rockstar game.

No. I personally like having the physical disc and case It's just my preference to have something tangible.

Besides, I'm still rocking the 20 GB hard drive from 2006. I'll be hard pressed to free up the required 8 GB to play GTA, let alone install the whole game.

Why not both, there was some guys on here the other day who wanted to give Rockstar more money for the game, they can do both! Buy the disc and get the download to.

Disc because i love the sound of data being read. Especially when things get heavy in the game and my xbox sounds like a blender.

That is honestly so stupid. Why buy two exact games for the same system.

It would be nice if we got a digital download with each retail copy. but people might abuse that.

Dude, can you stop critzing people on how they are going to buy their stuff, if he like to get both and he has the money, let him, don't discourage him.

OT: Disc becuase it smexy to touch a masterpiece. It wouldn't even matter becuase I can do a full install anyways.

Tell me what's smart about buying both version on the SAME console.

There is no reason to buy the same game twice for the same console.

Disc has more bang for your buck but a Download version is easier to come by and has faster load times.

I have a 360, so: Disc, then install whole game to hard drive.

Boom, benefits of digital (quiet, faster loading times) AND disc (if my hard drives crashes I still have the original disc to install on another Xbox).

Disc. Disc. Disc. I will never go digital so long as I can help it. I'd love to buy physical PC games, but Steam is just so much cheaper and convenient, so that's the only exception. I'll always buy disc on consoles though.

You can't trade in/sell digital download. If I could go to gamestop and trade my digital downloads then sure why not, but since I can't I'm disc all the way. Not that I will ever want to sell GTA5.

This.

Disc for consoles (Unless it's a classic game like GTA VC on PSN Store) and Steam/Digital for PC.

Disc. More content, (Special Edition stuff) the traditional GTA manual and map, the game case with the iconic GTA artwork, don't have to worry about downloading a whopping 15+ GB of data which would take hours upon hours to download on my sh*t connection.

Sure he can spend his money how he wants. That doesn't make him any less stupid for buying two of the same game.

If you're going to post about buying two of the same games then I have every right to criticize them.

You must have mis-read me then, I never said I was going to buy two copies, did you miss the thread the other day with people saying GTAV should be $200 and that Rockstar deserve more money for the game, and we were just giving them advice on how they can throw their money at Rockstar by buying T-Shirts and Merch, well, now, they have another way of throwing money at Rockstar, they can buy the physical version so they get the map, disc, etc, AND buy the digital version so they get the faster load times, it's their money to waste, and money that they already want to give to Rockstar.

The Last of Us only has a small install of like 50MB from that's just stuff like trophy data and other junk, it loads entirely off the disc like previous Naughty Dog games. GTA V's install is basically going to be half the game with all of the important data being put on the HDD and likely the only stuff being read of the disc being media data like music and video content that doesn't need that much bandwidth.

There's little reason why one version should load faster than the other though if there's any difference it should very small.

Does redx have some sort of brain damage!?

OT: I've pre-ordered for Xbox, I'll probably end up installing the whole thing on the HDD though...

Nothing beats the smell of a new game!

EDIT: except a new car.
