Sounds familiar. I have a load of Armageddon MFG squonk boxes in different colors including the full Ultem.

I love that buffed delrin and the small size of them. I haven't come full circle back to MTL yet but most of the people I know are collecting that style of gear, now. I do have one Infinix pod system for the car but usually I'll take a squonk along.

Lovely set you got there. Here is an older pic, lacking the purple and green Dotsquonk mechs and the 2 Dotsquonk 100W's. I think we might have a problem :D

Isn't it great how much money we saved by quitting smoking?

Yeah, they should have printed those warnings on the packages, instead of the totally bogus nicotine fear spreading.

Mum just gave me a T18EII as a present and I'm pretty impressed. The tobacco flavour and the 'throat hit' makes it feel a lot like smoking only obviously a lot cleaner and nicer. Only been using it for a few hours so I'm wondering- in you guys' experience- can vapes replace cigarettes long term? I hear different things from different people and I'm thinking maybe the folks who say it can't just have cheapo rigs? Mine seems great but apparently cost 150 quid or something, so that could be it.

As soon as I used an e-cig for the first time, I totally forgot about smoking tobacco. This is certainly the best way to quit smoking and maintain the pleasures of nicotine in a 90-95% less harmfull way.

I've been tobacco clean for 7 years now, thanks to my hoard of e-cigs. Mind you, don't believe anyone who says vaping is cheaper than smoking. You'll be buying lots of different devices, but loving it and have something left of your money, instead of a huge pile of cigarette buds thrown out :D :D

Keep up the vaping and make the world a better place, starting with your own body.

Oh yeah, on the side note, you can use cheaper stuff and nowadays pod systems do suffice, but you'll be wanting more and more and more.  :D

At the office, I use a pod system, a Lost Vape Orion (amazing long life on pods), but at home, the big guns come out, giving me that bit more pleasure of vaping.

Yeah I posted that a week ago and I've quit the cigs. Surprised how effective it is, why aren't more people vaping?

Had I noticed your post earlier, I'd have replied earlier too :D

I can't understand why people keep smoking tobacco and not resort to vaping. It's a lot cleaner, much better for your health (or far less harmfull) and smells a lot better too. Have I mentioned you won't have to repaint the walls and ceiling every year or 2 anymore? Also, your skin recovers too and your lungs are clean again after about 2-3 years of no more tobacco. Nicotine itself is fairly harmless and does nothing more than cafeine does.

Congrats. It's all about finding what works for you. You don't need anything fancy. After a week or two away from cigs, you'll wonder how you ever tolerated a habit so foul. There's a lot of disinformation out there and people are generally ignorant and tend to just accept the first thing they hear. They also tend to fear what they don't understand. Big tobacco knows this and they spend millions to take advantage of it. Sounds like you're on the right path.

Thinking of buying my mother a good set as a random present and see if it can get her of cigs. Then again I know she's stubborn as hell.

Don't know a thing about it other then it's function and I myself don't even smoke. I'll try to look into it. Don't want to end up with some cheapo fail set.

It's tough to get anyone to quit smoking. You really have to want to quit. There are some really good pod systems available today which would probably be the easiest and most convenient way to quit if she decides she wants to. You don't have to spend a ton of money to get something that's miles better than the gas station crap these days, either.

Since you're a non-smoker, I'd recommend that you give a few local vape shops a call, see what they have in stock for pod systems and get some recommendations. They'll also have flavors available for her to sample. The first step is exposing her to it the right way, as in seeing if she can find a flavor she likes. After that, it's about availability and convenience. Having a pod vape she can reach for any time that's filled with a flavor she likes and a nicotine level that kills her craving would give her the best chance for quitting. She may not quit right away, but having a readily available alternative on hand will increase her chances a lot.

Here's an example of a pod system I picked up last year that I still use in my car.

KKtGpEU.jpg

The Smok Infinix. I think it was around $30 with some extra pods included. You can fill it with whatever flavors you like, in this case I'm using some Mango salt nic. The vape shop can explain all the differences in liquids. Since I bought mine, pod systems got extremely popular and there are loads of decent setups you can get. Something like this is pretty similar to smoking in that you drag on it like you would a cig. Good luck with your mom.

I'm happy to see how many people switched into vaping. It was quite tough for me to quit smoking a year ago so I also thought of starting vaping - and I do agree it's more pleasant and less harmful. Now I can't imagine being apart from vape culture, not meeting vapers or reading vape news (I prefer this blog https://vapingdaily.com/blog/). Anyway, vaping changed my life for the better and it's great to meet such people everywhere.

Tomorrow we have a funeral of a good friend, who started vaping years ago, but still too late. She passed 2 days ago, age 60, due to the damage of smoking for years on end. Vaping helped her final years to be much more enjoyable, meeting like minded people, exchange experiences and build up a knowledge base for the community. Her efforts, enthousiasme, her drive to help smokers off tobacco has helped many to stop smoking and start vaping.

Her last months were a struggle, but she never stopped spreading the word, vape-wise. We're gutted, downright gutted, but we know she had a better life due to vaping.

Unfortunately, vaping doesn't cure us all, at least not our physical bodies. I'm sure her heart and mind have cured from smoking, but the big C already got her before she started vaping.

May she rest in peace.

Condolences. It's good to hear that her last bit of time was at least better than if she had been smoking.

Thanks. All went well. There was room for sadness and for joy too, as it should be.

And, bad days call for good days.

A new vape toy to clear the clouds...., or make them? I bought myself a Dotmod AIO, kinda the Dotmod Billet Box.

Works a treat, chucks clouds if needed and also does a very good MTL draw. Nifty little single 18650 device using factory coils. Inside the package are 2 mesh coils in my case, 0.3 Ohm. They included an adaptor for the use of Nautilus coils. Remember those? If you still have them an always liked them, this device takes them. It sports an easy removable 2.7ml tank, which is so much of a relief in comparison with the Billet Box rev 4 I have laying around.

Vaping Engage STRB in it and the flavour pretty much amazed the heck out of me. If these were available at the time I started vaping, I'd not have bought anything else. (yeah, right. I said the same thing when I got my first Ego T with a Kanger TS3 tank, after punching holes in carto's for months :D :D ).

Damn. The vaping world is getting a proper beating these days. It really hurts to see all the negative news, the corruption of governments, the huge influence of Big Tobacco and Big Pharma, the lies being told, the media involved to hammer down on vaping more and more, countries banning vaping and pretty much demonizing vaping, pushing vapers back to smoking tobacco.
The banning of flavored e-liquids, as if that's the problem of the deaths and illnesses of those who used blackmarket THC cartidges in vaping atomizers. The POTUS rallying for a ban on vaping. I don't know, but this all doesn't bode well and really doesn't help smokers to start vaping as a far less harmful way to enjoy nicotine.

It really hurts to see the vaping industry taking so many hits and lose business, because the average citizen isn't informed about vaping. They aren't informed about the recent deceases and casualties due to illegally obtained substances. Nor have I seen any news items on any government or law enforcements going after those who sell these lethal substances on the blackmarket much. Instead, they choose to pick up pitch forks and tar to go after the entire vaping community.
I can't, by the life of me, understand why a government choses this path, other than securing their rich donations from either BT or BP.
This is all bad news.....

Flavors are an easy scapegoat for the states that are among the largest beneficiaries of the MSA tobacco settlement. They have huge revenue tied to tobacco sales. Since vaping has decreased tobacco use over the past decade, it's in their interest to try to suppress the industry which in turn, may drive up tobacco sales again. It's a dirty business. Imagine your government trying to outlaw something that's been known to save lives, increase general public health and save millions on future health care costs. It's a short term knee jerk reaction to try to preserve that MSA income. Thankfully there are a few scientists who are trying to get the truth out but where state revenue is concerned, it's a difficult fight.

It really makes no sense, but prohibition never makes sense. The flavors they say are luring the youth into vaping are the same flavors that are available in alcoholic beverages. No one gives a sh*t about candy flavored vodka. The recent respiratory issues and deaths are caused by black market THC cartridges which contain vitamin E acetate and are completely unrelated to e-liquid for e-cigarettes which is produced in clean labs. Vaping has been around for 15 years and has become popular in about the past 10 yet these health problems were unheard of until very recently. The media loves a scary headline and the average citizen can't be bothered to do any actual research, so disinformation has been highly effective.

For the hobbyist, this isn't the end of the world. I can make my own e-liquid if I want, using the same propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and food grade flavors found in e-liquids. All of these are available online and will never be prohibited. My mechanical mods will last for years since they're basically just metal tubes, a battery, a switch and some wire. The people who are really going to suffer are the small business owners who will have to close their doors and the millions of smokers who will be denied access to the best smoking cessation strategy ever created. Eventually, the science will win but in the meantime businesses will fail, jobs will be lost and more people will die from combustible tobacco related illnesses.

I hope some of you vape gods can help me on this.

I have an Aspire Pockex (now my 2nd), and it is supposed to use 0.6 Ω coils specifically made for the model, and I have always used said ohm level. However, after the last time I changed the coil, I have somehow got my hands on an identical 1.2 Ω coil instead. Vapor is fine and all, but the flavor has recently become a little flat. I have bought 5 0.6 Ω coils, but I have already burned 2 of them, even after priming it and letting it soak in the tank for +15 minutes.

Why does my precious coils keep burning out so fast, while my 1.2 Ω coil is still doing fine?

Maybe you should try to reset it by pressing the fire button a few times without a coil mounted. It's probably stuck on a certain Wattage output. Pressing the fire button without coil may reset the mod.

Never mind the newest controversies with dead people, I too think e-cigs are a really good thing. Even I as a non smoker like to take a hit once in a while.

Anyway, does any of you use a vaporizer for herbs?

Tried it, and I ended up with my 3rd burned coil anyway. Lol, I just guess this one particular Pockex is better suited with 1.2 ohm coils. Just weird since my gf and friend are doing fine with 0.6 ohm coils.

Lol, bought one for $60 once and it didn't really do well with hash and tobacco. Tried some leftover herb and it just fried it without any fun vapor to inhale.

Sounds like you got a bad coil pack. Quality control can be or miss on pre-built coil heads like those and a bad batch might have slipped through. Since your PocketX operates in bypass mode and has a chip that regulates its output from 18-23 watts it's unlikely that you're over driving your coils. Those two coil resistances are designed for different styles of vaping. The lower .6 ohm coils are for a more direct to lung style vape and the higher 1.2 ohm are for more of a mouth to lung vape. The lower resistance coils are supposed to give you more vapor and the higher resistance coils are supposed to give you more flavor on a shorter, lighter draw so it makes sense that you're finding the performance a little flat on the 1.2 ohm.

You should buy another pack of .6 ohm coils and see if that solves the problem. Also, the viscosity of the e-liquid you're using might contribute to dry hits and burnt coils. Higher VG liquid like 70/30 VG/PG is thicker and slower to feed the coil. Maybe try something with a higher PG ratio like a 50/50 VG/PG.

Well yeah, you can't use hash with it and you're not supposed to put tobacco in it.

With weed you can get high af with these things, and you use up less than with smoking.

Mine also has a water pipe adapter, though I haven't gotten to work yet.
