It crashes in 'call CTheScripts__processExternalScriptTriggers', pretty weird. Have you tried to delete the set file?

I'll check it right now.

Hmmm, the bug with car windows does not occur at all at night. Very weird indeed. Must be something on the timecyc causing it.

 

BTW, ryosuke's e-mail is [email protected] Don't expect anything though, since he quit modding.

 

EDIT: I spoke too soon it seems. It does occur at night, but a lot less often. On the other hand, other stuff such as water on shallow pools still disappear as often. It may be hopeless after all.

Chances are it doesn't appear as often in night because the draw distance on most Timecyc's is lower at night, so less objects with alpha textures are spawned.

Project 2dfx, all settings on default (except corona size @ 0.3), 10x draw distance. No crashes, little bit of lag right after you get into the game (because of loading of the .txt-files?), and looks great!

I'm planning to release Vice City version tomorrow, it's almost finished, just some tests needs to be done. GTA 3 version at the moment lags too much, i'll see what i can do about it.

I also added offsets support for gta3, now lod coronas are spawned in exact same place where original coronas are:

No crashes with IDE_Tweaker & Project 2dfx along with 10x draw distance & a lodless Los Santos, awesome work!

Strange thing the flicker fix won't work for LA unless I swap the timecycle with one with a lower farclip....to be honest I'm not surprised!

Have you tried the same location without modifying map files? For me the flickering fix does it's job, both the famous Grove Street and city area of Los Santos. I haven't even bothered to try out other areas that much, those two areas were the most prone to flickering for me.

Yeah I have, yes the flickr fix does do its job. I pushed the limit too much with deleting the lods, putting up a stupid high amount of draw distance and having the 10x timecycle. I'm just having fun pushing SA to its limits :lol:

I really hate to sound like a noob, but how exactly do I put the .dff files in gta3.img?

Use the tool in the link below to open your GTA3.img and then click on import and replace. Select all the files with the mod and click rebuild.

It will probably have the same alpha bugs though. I did get plenty when I tried out the LOD mod.

 

BTW, it seems the patch_generic or patch_all_normal options aren't working. If I set them both to 0, it still patches the draw distance anyway. If I set the new_draw_distance values to 0.0, nothing is drawn. The whole map is just LODs.

In Vice City i'm using a different method to increase draw distance(it was described in MVL thread a while ago), which doesn't require to touch distances from ide files. Also MVL is kinda required to use this mod, because it could be unstable without increasing some limits.

globalm.xml inside your MVL folder.

You better post errorlog.txt and messagelog.txt from MVL folder. Pretty odd crash though.

Plus, just to be clear, MVL isn't required for this mod, but it's better to have it with increased limits, just in case.

As I feared, it has the same alpha bugs as the LOD mod. Invisible Tommy when entering vehicles, see-through helicopter blades and outlined trees. Looks like the engine just doesn't like the increased draw distance.
