In GTA IV a good way to "calibrate" this mod is to fly along the route of the Plumbers Skyway in Alderney at night and try to get the graphics settings and IVLodLights.ini settings to where you don't notice the transition from the mod's LOD streetlight coronas to the game's streetlight coronas as they pop in. On my system that means View Distance 75 and CoronaRadiusMultiplier = .25 which really turns down the wattage on the whole thing, but fits vanilla GTA IV very well. It's not bright like GTAV. At 0.25 radius the mod LOD lighting is present but subdued to match the rest of the night lighting in the game.

 

EDIT: on further consideration I'd like to find a way to make the vanilla coronas match and more seamlessly blend with the Project2DFX coronas better, or vice versa. Project2DFX's distant lights look a lot like GTAV, kind of a solid dot and very pretty but GTA IV's streetlamps have a tiny solid core and a large translucent glow around them. The lights defined in IVLodLights.dat have the correct RGB values to match the lights on the map, but it's a different look and needs something to bring it together better. Curse Rockstar for encrypting distantlights.dat in these games, I bet my answers are in there.

Can someone please help me? I've experienced crashes on certain missions of GTA SA since I installed this mod.

They all seem to occur when a searchlight or something else is involved in a cutscene. For example, in the mission Reuniting The Families there's the cutscene following the police chopper with the searchlight on and the same happens during Are You Going To San Fierro? when the chopper flies over Truth's farm.

Now, in Amphibious Assault, knowing the Vietnamese gangsters' Tropic had searchlights on them, I've tried halving the ScriptSearchLights value (from 1024 to 512), and succeeded in at least starting the cutscene, but when CJ is about to jump into the water, the games crashes again.

What do I have to do?

I'm using modloader. I have a v1.0 European version of SA.

I just can't get this to work with DirectX 2.0 for some reason I have tried seemingly everything.

Made a video covering Project 2DFX in detail, including all the ini settings, going over what they do and what I'd recommend.

Hi guys.

Which command need to change to show cars,pedestrians from far distances.So if i fly to air with jetpack i want to see cars on the road far.

And the other thing, if a car bit far from the view the car texture is not loaded fully. I don't find the command that fixes it.

This plugin doesn't change cars/ped spawn distance, only map/2dfx draw distance

so i have a issue on san andreas, i have no texture mods installed, and when i first load into the game its fine but when i turn the entire map flickers, and eventually crashes i have a config for fastman92 that originally worked with it but now it dont, any solutions?

It's broken. If you don't want the LOD coronas, just set MaxNumberOfLodLights to 0.

Hi, what render distance value is similar to the maximum render distance of the mobile version from GTA3, GTA VC and GTA SA?

 

Hi again. The mod have any settings that make it possible to disable the lights effect at night? I mean flying a plane and seeing the city lights at night, I wanted to disable it if possible.

Set RenderLodLights = 1 to 0 inside SALodLights.ini

I'm just kind of a lurker here so if I'm mistaken someone feel free to correct me... but you say you wanted to increase the render distance and it looks like you did. That light should be there as its being cast by the street lamp directly above it. The difference here is that the increased render distance allows you to see that. The vanilla game doesn't render the light out that far away from the player.

Does anyone have a config for fastman92 limit adjuster that works with project2dfx? I’ve been looking but can’t find anything I’ve configured mine but I can only start new games and if I save and reload, the save crashes so hopefully someone can help me with this

Precursors Fun World

So, when using a mod for GTA IV that mixes the map with the EFLC one most of the lod traffic lights get f*cked up, floating way above in the air and stuff, is there any way to fix it, or make the asi load the lod lights intended for tbogt?

I'm having an issue myself with the 2dfx mod...

 

I just decided to give this a whirl in GTA3 I've got my 1.0 exe patched to 1.1

I've installed Widescreen Fix along with SilentPatch and GInput

 

 

The issue is the game loads the title screen and then just drops back to the desktop. No error message, just quits the game. If anyone has any ideas on what to look at I'd appreciate hearing 'em.

So, initially I had the 2dfx files in my root directory. I moved those into the mss folder. That got me a little further along. Now I can attempt to start a game but then during load I get an unhandled exception error.

This is GTA3 installed from the original discs on Windows 10.

 

I've tried removing each of the mods I mentioned before one at a time and then trying to launch again with Project 2DFX installed but everytime I get the same error. No address change. It seems the game just doesn't want to load with these files installed.

Are you using the Ultimate ASI Loader? Modern-day ASI plugins like this one require to be loaded much earlier than the Miles Sound System's ASI loader loads them, so I think you'll need this. Just extract the "dinput8.dll" file into your GTA3 root folder.

 

Make sure your EXE version is 1.0, too.:)

Hey thanks for the reply...

 

It was down to needing a GTA3 1.0 exe file. Again, I couldn't get my game running with the 1.0 exe that came off of my original GTA3 CD. Patching it to 1.1 was the only way I had found in Win10 to actually get into the game.

Anyway I've been doing the google thing and I came across the GTA3 Beautification Project. That project provides a modified 1.0 executable that seems to work fine on Win10. That plus the 2dfx mod loads fine.

 

Unrelated issue, now I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting a lot of obvious pop in. I'll turn a corner and parts of the elevated train track and trees will start flickering in and out of existence. I'm trying to track down the setting that would tweak that.
