There seems to be a strange texture flickering bug if you set "RenderLodLights = " from 1 to 0 in GTA III. Not sure how to describe it since I don't have way to show the bug in action, but after setting RenderLodLights to 0, the building textures in the distance garble and flicker as I'm driving through Portland in the game's opening areas and it looks much worse than with it enabled or not using the LodLights plugin.

You could turn off the drawdistance enhancements, that way performance impact should be minimal and still give you the lodlights.

I've installed the mod but nothing seemed to work when I opened the game.

I have modloader and ASI loader installed too.

I don't know if it's me or a script I'm running alongside Project2DFX, but the limit adjuster included with it constantly causes a crash with Vice City and I haven't edited the ini file of the limit adjuster, though the LodLights part of the mod seems to work fine.

I have a question. How do I increase the draw distance while keeping the fog weather effects. I kept it like this so I can see the whole map
 

[DrawDistanceChanger]
Enable = 1
MinDrawDistanceOnTheGround = 2000.0
Factor1 = 8.0
Factor2 = 3.0

But i put it back to 800 on MinDrawDistanceOnTheGround because I like the fog weather effects

By editing the timecyc.dat, you have a lot more control that way.

Intended feature, not a bug?

It's somewhere under the searchlights section and you should be able to disable it.

nah, can't find an option to disable that "yellow fog" in the .ini

What you exactly mean?

If you mean those yellow cones,

Then it comes under searchlight section

There you can disable them

(Not able to remember the exact name of that option).

Hi people, i'm new here, and i have a loading problem (map and objects blinking or disappearing, the classic)!

I installed cleo, renderhook, silentpatch, and stream memory fix.

 

When i install project 2dfx extracting it in my gta sa directory, i have loading problems with the maps and objects..

almost everything blonks or fades away, how can i solve this?

 

Stream memory fix does not help, i extracted that in root directory too.

Use open limit adjuster instead of streammemoryfix and make sure the drawdistancechanger is disabled (incompatible with renderhook).

Thanks! What should i do with open limit adjuster? Which setting to change? But isnt it included with 2dfx out of the box?

Edit: i found another thread about this, and followed the instructions..

I set the limit to 100%, or even to 2048, but nothing changes, textures still flicker

On a Vanilla game (no heavy texture mods and such) 512 mb seems to work best (so just put in 512, do not put % after it), if it still causes issues gradually go up until the issue is resolved, going too high causes the exact same problem it attempts to fix.

Unfortunately it does not work even with 512, i even tried fastman limit adjuster and it did not work either.. It looks like that the limit adjuster does not affect anything, because even without 2dfx some parts of the map (the farther ones) aren't loading until i fly over them.. I even tried some random .cs files that stated to fix the issue (i thinks acid's limit adjuster), but they did not work.

IMPORTANT EDIT:

 

While i was trying to gradually go up with memory limit as you said in your reply, i tried to put just 1 megabyte instead of default 50.

The game was heavily affected, almost everything did not get rendered, just the peds and cj.

 

So open limit adjuster is affecting memory usage, at least if i put 1 🤣

if not try defragging it. 

 

(if u have a SSD DO NOT DEFRAG IT!)

I'm on a top tier dell xps 15 🤣 SSD, i7, GTX2050.. is it enough for a 10 years old boi?

I can't really figure it out, i will do a fresh install, before i will be installing 2dfx, then renderhook.. let's see what happens.

 

Which gta_sa.exe do you suggest me to use to downgrade to 1.0? I have the original game that is 2.0
