What is nonsense is to use such an aging OS. Windows XP was released back in 2001. 15y OS.

Perhaps the only reason to use XP is if your hardware is from before 2005. Even then, I'd rather use Windows 10 or 8.1.

Since they aren't as heavy as Windows 7. By the way, you're asking to be infected if you use Windows XP. (Maybe unless LTSB, but still...)

What for? Microsoft pays him for abandoning XP support.

If no jokes, please who can compile and XP? This is nonsense. This mod is among the top three, and can not be used.

 

You've got a few options here:

 

1. Stop talking sh*t and get some better hardware than that Dell Optiplex you found at the dump.

2. Learn to code and compile.

3. Deal with it and move on.

 

Nobody really cares about your problem, because we all moved on to greener pastures at least half a decade ago.

 

Question: What do Factor1 and Factor2 under DrawDistanceChanger control?

Is there any way to change draw distance for shadows of vehicles/peds for GTA 3 using this mod? I change the static shadows value but the draw distance of shadows of peds and vehicles doesn't change in game (and it's really short). It's the only thing that bugs me. All vehicles which are a few meters away from me have no shadows and look unnatural.

I don't think searchlights even have draw distance. At least the ones I render in the mod certainly don't.

TAG you can add into the project increase searchlight draw distance, or a separate plugin, it would be nice for some types of mods:

Then please explain to me what is the difference with Searchlights in this mod, where Searchlight visible from any place map :monocle:

I dunno, maybe it creates script searchlights and those don't appear when player is not nearby or something.

I'm kind of at an absolute loss.. I've installed this exactly as instructed, and it does absolutely nothing. V2 works, but not this one. Every other mod I have works, but this one does absolutely nothing for some reason. Yes I have Silent's asi loader and cleo 4. I've put the files in to the main directory, the scripts folder, the mod loader folder, nothing. I don't understand...

 

Scratch that, the old versions don't work for me all of the sudden.. and I have no idea why.

im dont even know 2dfx can increase draw distance:

MinDrawDistanceOnTheGround - i set on 5000

DrawDistance - also set on 5

Why this mod drastically decreases video performance. I know that it increases the draw distance a lot but I feel FPS drops even on lower settings. My GPU is not that good but I can run Batman Arkham City on highest settings (except the DX11 settings) smoothly at 30-40 FPS

It's related to the 2dfx lights. If you use the _min preset, you will notice it's less heavy on perf.

There should be dat file with _min at the end of its name. If you rename it to regular name it'll spawn less lights.

EDIT: Nvm it seems TAG removed it, for some reason.

it would be so nice if you could find a way to implement a version of IDE tweaker to IV. In theory, forcing a high draw distance can minimize or even eliminate the z fighting issue that plagues this game (at the expense of a very high GPU load, but hey)

Installed 2dfx on a modded game with MMGE by MacFly, but when I'm in interiors, all the textures are white ! When I desactivate 2dfx, all come back perfectly !

 

Damn I love 2dfx someone can help me ?

Well MMGE 3 isn't finished so using it for screenshots is all it's good for in the areas that don't show any graphical bugs. It's just a better option to drop enb entirely and use skygfx.

This might seem like a stupid question, but would it ever be possible to get an effect similar to what GTA V has with distant headlights/tail lights using Project 2DFX? This video illustrates what I mean. I realize it would look different without a depth of field effect.

This was already done by Junior_Djjr, it's not exactly like GTA V but it comes pretty damn close and looks amazing at night:
