With GTA 5 being a little over a month away from our grasp, we may as well take a look back on where we came from here on these forums, with all the crazy speculation, love-or-hate ideas, and steaks. How can we forget steaks?

 

I'll look back on how I hated Franklin for being a gang banging hood-rat slum ghetto trash low-life thug, and I'll always remember all the hate mail I got from "TRU FRANKLIN OGs", calling me a racist for having an opinion.

 

What part of the V speculation-days will you guys remember?

Then you hate every GTA protagonist to date because every single one of them worked for organisations that settled things with violence. What do you want? A non violent GTA? Are you serious? Why would I hate on Franklin or CJ, just because they're black? Look at Vic. He's black, but is he a ghettoblasting gangbanger? No. Look at the empire he built up (up until he gets killed). Do you see him drinking 40's on a house step, playing jacks and killing innumerable rival gangsters over a petty squabble (aside from takeovers). Vic wanted to get out of the gang life, and if you take the ending of VCS literally, where Vic leaves town, he's pretty much successfully gotten out of the gang life (at least in Vice City).

The guy was in the army he grew up very different from Franklin. Plus had better connections than Frank at the time.

So just because he grew up differently than Franklin, that gives Franklin the right to ghettoblast? I know people from real sh*tty homes, and they turn out okay. They don't have an urge to do drivebys.

Forget the shootouts, guns, robberies, drug-dealing and gangs, this is a game about dressing in smart suits, being diplomatic, having business-like meetings in offices to resolve disputes.

For all we know, he's been in jail for the past 7 years of his life and doesn't want to go back for something petty like gangbanging. I'll admit, I see a massive flaw with him insulting Lamar about ghetto life, while at the same time helping him gangbang - Luis had the same problem. Though we don't know how this will manifest itself in the story so jumping to conclusions is just plain dumb.

I, just like you, remember the days where there were flame wars between people who hated and people who liked Franklin, or about the universe rules and wether the Ballas and Grove Street could come back. Greenrock became a GTAforum legend back then, but he changed and is positive about Franklin these day. Or the crazy Los Santos size topic which was filled with people that just kept repeating ancient flame wars. But it also had very good research and right now they are pretty sure about the range in which the size of LS will be.

 

The lead up to the release of GTA V is crazy but very entertaining. And we're still in it. I can't wait for when I'll actually be able to play this game though. This forum will totally change and be about the game itself in stead of ridiculous nonsense.

I'm guessing you have already played the game and completed it already, because you seem to know everything about Franklin's complete story

 

I don't remember Rockstar saying anything about Franklin like the things in you mentioned. And if you paid close attention to all the info available about Franklin, you would know that Franklin is in fact still a gang member, regardless of his higher ambitions. This just seems to keep passing you by, for some strange reason you choose ignore this. If Franklin is a gang member, of course he's still gonna be involved in gangbangin' to some degree, where is the flaw in that ? You have not even played the game yourself and you are already concluding that you can see 'flaws' in Franklin's story ?
