xenithtxt
Leak image: Leak info (more than one character) Kokatu GTA4 mod. GTA4 map on HUD How is that a mod? That's an extremely early build of the game, I really doubt they had the HUD set up, out of all things.
Distrom
Leak image: Leak info (more than one character) Kokatu LOL that old image is fake, it's photoshoped from the robbery scene in the first trailer, also, can't you see the GTA IV HUD?

haarp
There's no incentive to. Good money, good game. When I test games I only leak if the company is outright lying to the public about the condition of their product. Otherwise I just play along. When I test games I only leak if the company is outright lying to the public about the condition of their product. Otherwise I just play along. I test games and hardware all the time. I never leak anything, never. I am loyal to the companies. I don't see the point in leaking stuff from my side. If the company decides to leak something to get response/hype/viral then I think it's a cheap and smart way of advertising.

Carlover325
because its their job and they don't want to lose it. But if Rockstar never found out who did it Some people are actually proud on what they do and make... (Not that the NDA doesn't help, but still) NDA??? Non-Disclosure Agreement. If I worked there, I wouldn't leak info. I would not risk my job for people I don't know. It's not worth it.
73duster
Try explaining to your family why you chose to throw away your career for the chance to reveal meaningless information about a video game. Even after you find a job working at McDonalds, because NOBODY in the game development industry will ever hire you again, you will STILL be hounded by lawsuits. Your wife and children move in with grandma because you can no longer afford to support them, and you realize that you didn't reveal anything world shattering. It's not like you worked at some Pharmaceutical company who's had the cure for aids locked up for years, and you decided to tell the world. No, all you did was reveal some information about a video game. The world didn't come to a stop, and your constant reminders to friends about being the guy who revealed info on GTA have made you annoying, rather than cool. I actually think it's better to be the guy who works at Rockstar, and much like a government secret agent, honors his oath to secrecy.

Listen "idiot" the HUD bar is red because that's what happens when Niko had a very samall ammount of health, the blue bar is the armor, can't you recognize that part of LC in the map? Do some research, you are making look yourself like an asshole.
shunsuke
And Why the F*** would they leak it ? To satisfy a bunch of children on a VG forum ? It's not like they'd get millions $ for it. I don't see any point of doing so.
V8VANTAGE
because its their job and they don't want to lose it. But if Rockstar never found out who did it Some people are actually proud on what they do and make... (Not that the NDA doesn't help, but still) NDA??? NDA = Non-Disclosure Agreement. It's like a contract stating that you must not disclose any information about a game or its contents before release unless it gets submitted and posted out OFFICALLY. No leaking screenshots, videos, storyline, characters, cars, 3D meshes, textures..... Every employee in the games studio HAS to sign it and I believe they do it for each separate game too. So they can then insta-fire any individual caught.
GTAmsterdamN
they need their paychecks, and that are aware that if they leak they will lose it. RichyB
There must have been dozens if not hundreds of people working on GTA V, from actors to developers to writers to testers, some of whom hold no loyalty to Rockstar and maybe only work on small aspects of the game on contract. How, when there are this amount of people working on a game, do they keep it so secret? Pretty much every piece of info has been official from Rockstar, but any one of those people could hide their IP and completely anonymously post correct info on the net. Telling their friends or family cause they're drunk or had a sh*t day up at work, how come it doesn't happen?

Elyobo893
All R* employees are sworn to secrecy by the Demon-Lord Cthulu. If they release any unauthorised information, Cthulu unleashes a thousand years of darkness on the Universe. Adults die, children eat each other. Then a giant fist enters your anus and you are pregnant. Or, you know, bound by an employment contract.

I never said NDA was the answer to life, but it is the answer to your question. You asked how they keep the secret. We answered that there is a non-disclosure agreement. It really is as simple as that.
