Rockstar could step into an "old vision" with gta6

Its no doubt that Rockstar Is aiming for realism, and gta V will just be a step forward In Its own certain mood. This Is more of a wishing kind of thread. The Idea of Rockstar making something more different and fresh with their next or nextnextnext game.

For a long time I always thought gta 2 trailer has a very awesome energy and a sort of darker feeling to it than I ever seen In movies. So, I always imagine how the mood and tone could be converted Into a game. The overall lead theme would be dark and serious and a story with less words, giving more attention to body language and real life, to keep It short. The Environment and physics animation would be given an huge step up (absolutely fantastic til this day, yet not really comparable to real life, mostly in terms of lightning and textures). I think their next bold step Is to get "Deeper" both In terms of story and attention to detail.

Perhaps an "Crime drama" that explores the mind of an drug addicted criminal. Family, gang, girlfriend, mafia problems, an lead character moving towards an destination without end, yet pursuing some kind of happiness. I want something that Is what Gta Iv could been but never could translate or connect with the viewer.

This Idea could be very much to early to envision, but diversity makes things feel fresh.

What do you think, In terms of story and world?

A: Standard, a little bit of everything

or

B: Full attention to a certain mood

If you want realisim run outside and do whatever the f*ck you want and be prepared to recieve the appropriate punishment. Realistic enough for you?

Truth is, Real life is already crap enough. We dont need it implanted more into video games... considering I play video games to escape from all the bullsh*t of real life.

I think it's a great idea, but alot of people wouldnt like it, so unfortunatly it's never going to happen, I think IV was the most seious GTA we'll ever see.

I fail to see how rockstar is aiming for realism.

Trust me, if rockstar was aiming for realism then you would know about it.

"I think Photorealism is a bit of a boring goal, actually. It's not really a goal at all, more an inevitable technical achievement. Pushing Grand Theft Auto a bit towards photorealism has suited it's grittier approach, bit it's vitally important to give the world and the characters in it their own personality. It's just more fun, more interesting, and - to me at least - more appealing".

I know they are heading towards realism, Gta V Is realistic and only constrain In ceratin ways becuase of ther engine limits. ok. and style also gets In certain way to feel complete and unfified with Its entity.

GTAV is not realistic. nor is it intended to be realistic.

Gta Is defintely the most realistic game that exist, yes. Lets just say action movies arent that far away from realism, he. Its quite obvious that rockstar dev biggist dream Is to capture every aspect of real life. They are just progressing All fields towards realism.

Just read some philosophy, then you will realise that everything and nothing contains any "realism".

Its actually quite easy, you can stop at conformation of reality or reality thru the view of an camera. That Is what I think of gta.

When we are talking holodeck in terms of reality then there will be something to talk about. A video game will never capture reality to the fullest.

Shoot, reality has a hard enough time.

Rockstar isn't aiming for that much realism.

Few things I think would definitely make GTA more realistic:

- Player stats take hundreds of (real, not in-game) hours to max out.

- Paying for every call you make, or contract.

- You spawn in a hospital bed, maybe on life-support or at least restricted to using crutches when mobile.

... Meaning you need NPCs to help open doors, get in cars, etc. Robbing cars is out of the question.

- You get constipation when running about if you've just eaten.

- You have to urinate and poop daily. A fine for doing it in public.

- Your safe house requires a key that can be lost. Hide a spare key somewhere NPCs won't see it.

- Car insurance.

- Wounds take time to heal.

- If you don't eat or drink every few hours, you show symptoms of dehydration and starvation which interferes with every aspect of gameplay.

- You can only carry small weapons in public that can be hidden from sight. Caught holding a weapon - prison.

- Wanted system is overhauled, so once you're wanted, police won't kill, but do what they can to catch you alive.

- Wanted level doesn't vanish. You're wanted until you're caught. Notoriety rises as you spend more time in hiding.

- Your hair and beard grow. Regular maintenance is advised.

- The only cheating is if you're having an affair with multiple women/girlfriends.

- Prison doesn't involve bribery and spawn; you have to spend at least 30 in-game days behind bars and live the life of an inmate (not skippable).

- After being released, you're on record and people will recognise you. Any repeated offence, and you're imprisoned for a lot longer.

- Murder a pedestrian in cold blood = at least 25+ in-game years (not skippable).

...that's just the start.

Sounds like fun, eh?

Games are an escape, not a simulation of what we already live in.
