Ambient_
In SA the traffic was nothing short of suicidal on motorways, what do you think, will it return? Probably not buy there may be a cheat for it?
Maglev
I really hope they improved it. GTA IV's traffic was pretty bad. Just look at merging places at highway's or the 4 lane to 2 lane spot near Star Junction. And the cop AI was just retarded, they crash into walls with no reason. Scrandom
The very brief driving on the highway during the gameplay trailer got me pumped. Looked as if it were a real highway with the cars going extremely fast and such.

Racecarlock
I hope they pay attention to traffic lights and other cars and all that. On the other hand, SA pileups were some of the most hilarious over the top things I've seen. So, I still want them to go really fast on the highways. Just try harder to be aware of each other. ChillyPhilly
I had many a laugh on the freeways of SA. Park a car, wait for a pile-up, then sit back and enjoy the ensuing framerate-crunching chaos.

Dope_0110
This is a new engine so that particular problem won't be there, I think AI is more capable for driving at high speeds. In 3D era games the engine just couldn't handle them going too fast and that's why they piled up as soon as they spawned. But there will always be something, we just gotta wait and see what. It wasn't just that though, it was the way they only seemed to change lanes when another vehicle was right next them, which caused crashes and was surely quite easily avoidable. That was far worse in IV. I don't know why they made them switch lanes all the time, maybe to make them seem more lively. So that might be expected in V, but hopefully not. Jack94
I loved how fast the cars traveled on the motorways in San Andreas. It was crazy! Hope it returns
Bertanius
While I loved GTA IV (my favourite so far), the traffic AI in it was pretty silly, for what it was it was good. Aside from fixing traffic AI, traffic lights need to be fixed too, some traffic lights in GTA IV were inverted, so vehicles would stop on green, and go on red (it's confusing to see). San Andreas had... well, pretty funny traffic, the way it sticks to the scripted path line made them turn so weird, and how they would go so fast (and could stop in an instant - pileups awaited), GTA IV's traffic fixed this as it became dynamic once the vehicle was in a certain range (hence why you can often see cars randomly floating and sliding through walls at a distance). I remember back when I played SA on the PS2 before I got it for PC, and I used the fast motion cheat (and saved) so many times that many aspects of the game were permanently stuck in fast motion. One side affect was that traffic was stuck in fast motion (wow they went fast), so piles of vehicles would always jam into each other, effectively lagging the game until they were pushed apart again. For GTA V, I'm sure the AI won't be perfect (consoles can't support so much dynamic AI), but there are plenty of fixable aspects, like the traffic light problem (they always blamed me when they broke my lights as they tried to make a secondary lane on a single-lane road). GTAaLEX117
The SA car pileups were hilarious, but downright frustrating during missions. A cheat code would be pretty awesome though.
Hodgey.
SA traffic especially on the motorways was just plain stupid but could be fun at times. However i think and hope that R* have said that the drivers AI has been imporved which is always a plus as in GTA IV the driver AI was good for the most part but every now and again it reverted back to its old stupid ways. jamieleng
Everybody moans about the driver AI crashing into things & especially cops mowing down pedestrians, well I actually like it. I don't want vehicles to move around like they're on rails, or like SimCity. There's nothing funnier than having a shootout with a cop on foot, only to have a cop car come careening through & wiping out his buddy. It just fits with the crazy, ludicrous & OTT nature of the GTA world. I like that chaos can be caused by people other than me.

Spider-Vice
The traffic in SA was actually result of a wonky AI, most accidents were not scripted but unexpected. It was a bit unbalanced, but not the worst ever, it was fun to mess with. But I don't want that back in GTA V giving the fact that it wasn't totally intentional. PhatteeButtz
If it's anything like real LA traffic, you'll be doing 70MPH for a good 10 miles then all of a sudden you'll have a few feet to come to a complete stop for no good reason. Then you'll spend the next half hour in a slow-moving mass of cars.
