greenrock
no betrayal or anything... i know it sounds cheezy, but it would be kind of sweet if they just rode off like gangstas with big amounts of cash

CryptReaperDorian
I think that's the way it'll be. R* has developed and/or published at least four tragedies as of recent years. I think they'll go with a happy ending this time. I bet that Trevor and Franklin will get married.
Dope_0110
I'm with you on this one and I really believe there will be nothing like betrayal, snitch, killing or anything like that. It simply wouldn't work. And every single game they made on this generation had a dark ending (well, maybe not MP3). Another one would make no sense, and I'm 100% sure the ending will be a happy one with all three enjoying the heist money and being friends. Of course, some of the backing characters will die and such.. but as far as the protags go I can only see a happy ending there.
Dick Justice
That would be such a lame, corny ending. Just imagine it - "we're all millionaires now! good job team." Then they high-five and live happily ever after. That's one of the worst endings to anything, ever. I'm not saying they need to betray each other, because that's been done to death too... but it can't just be a ride off into the sunset either. I want an ambiguous ending, one that you could interpret as either happy or sad depending on whatever moralistic viewpoint you hold. You know, what if Franklin has to kill all his old friends so they stop holding him back - by doing this, he gets his big house, maybe even a nice family... Did he do the right thing? You could interpret something like that in a number of ways. I want an ending on par with that for each character.
lightningun
If one dies at the end, we loose his special ability, I don't think that will happen.

While it doesn't have a particularly sad ending, a lot of sh*t goes terribly wrong for Max throughout the game. So, it's by all means a "tragedy". He's still a wreck by the end of the game, and his emotional scars still haunt him. He hasn't been "healed" from really anything.

TheGodDamnMaster
None of them will die, it would take away too much from the game like locking-out their exclusive side missions and activities. DeafMetal
It should at least be an option. Let the player decide between happily-ever-after, ambiguous, or tragic.
zainzombie
There should be a betrayal.. but one of the protagonists should not betray other protagonists, they should betray FIB.

SeaFoam
I could see it ending where all three characters just go their separate ways, still being able to freely switch between all of them whenever the player wants, just no more contact. I would actually dig an ending like this. It's not a 'good' ending but it's not 'bad' either.
IveGotNoValues
...Oh its Greenrock but to answer the question, I don't think it would end all happy and holding hands singing in the sunset, this is GTA were talking about haha.

Grove Street Heat
We Still Have to remember they are criminals not " friends " they jus used their skills together so i believe this is not a Three amigos game each pro tag has his own goals and gta is getting more darker so i don't think there will be a " happy" ending to a game about greed and mula

Guest
I hope its up to us if its a happy ending for all that way there will be multiple endings. What I mean is I hope there are choices throughout the story that determine if they stay true to each other or betray. For example what if someone who knows about Michael tries to get Franklin to off him. You can then off him and most likely Trevor and end up the only one who ends rich or stick by him. saintsrow
Should all three protags get killed by a rogue FIB agent in a cutscene over which we have no control, and then the protags' sons eventually grow up and take revenge on the retired FIB agent at his mansion in Malibu? No, that sh*t will seem like a sequel to Redemption. Instead, the protags should fight in a mexican standoff like The good, the bad, and the ugly. Franklin-Michael-Trevor respectively. Franklin would win, Michael will die like the rat he is, and Trevor will do... Trevor stuff.
