Bobbyleez
If there was manual w/clutch ( like in the forza series) it would be cool, but I don't see the point to drag by just pressing your gas pedal...
TakinThyBacon
Dont make sense without manual gears. That's kinda retarded bro. Most cars that drag race with a lot of horsepower don't have manual transmissions. It's hard to build a manual that can take high horsepower without breaking. Besides, even on the lower horsepower end it still makes sense since we can customize/tune the cars now. Hell, people used to drag race online all the time on part IV at the airport and you knew instantly if you were gonna win or lose based on which car you each had since you couldn't tune them. And considering there are crap loads of videos of people doing just that on youtube, I bet they either do have a track, or at the least made sure there is another long and straight road for us drag racers. Not true, maybe if you are racing those little cracker jack toy rice burners with throw away transmissions. i have lived a mile from a drag strip all my life and have seen many cars come and go, and most American Muscle cars are running manuals and many of the serious import guys are as well, having control of your gears makes for better times, thats a fact. Serious drag racers run manual transmissions. actually very few run manuals most gms for example run a th350 or th400 unless they have stepped up to overdrive. then a highley built 200-4r or 700r4 the first being better usually is used. mopar 727 tq flight. ford c6 etc.... very few people like a muncie to drag race due to lack of a trans brake deep stall and usually the auto shifts faster and when built right is probablly stronger. none of your top nhra cars run a stick that i know of and lets not forget even back in the day the powerglide ruled the strip. Not the case in my region, I see about 70% manuals at the local strip
nekkidhillbilly
why is that drag racing more than seeing how fast you can shift. proper launch is everything. granted i could care less if its in the game unless its illegal street racing. They use powerglide transmissions which are automatics. Oh and serious racers use manual transmissions?! LMAO A manual transmission is when you have a clutch, pressing the clutch, shifting and releasing the clutch takes a hell of a lot longer to shift than just pushing the gear shifter forward as you do in a powerglide. Nobody can outshift a machine/computer depending on what you have. Even if you are running a lower HP car, if you put in a shift kit, better servo, etc... it will outshift a manual 100% of the time. If you are running a stock automatic transmission, then yeah, a manual is better. But a serious racer isn't running ANYTHING that is stock, least of all his drivetrain. PHOENIXZERO
What's the point of a drag strip without shifting? The highest top speed balanced with acceleration will pretty much always win, besides if you really wanted to do that there's sure to be plenty of open road. On the other hand I don't really consider being able to shift all that skill dependent in a video game. As for the race track on the blue print, we'll see if it's a horse/dog track or for cars either when the game comes out or they show footage of it. Goddammit, of course someone would quote my post while I was editing it. Real races =/= video game races even when it comes to driving "simulators". The only thing that's really going to involve timing would be hitting the light, beyond that it wouldn't be that complex in GTA. Again, there's nothing stopping someone from doing the same thing outside of a track.

BlademanX
Trevor is a proper american dude, I dont see why drag strip racing couldnt be his thing, Muscle cars and proper dragsters of 700 to 1000hp built for the drag strip which you could use on the road illegally of course, Maybe you get a star if you get caught driving one around town lol I think this activity would bring Franklin and Trevor together as a common interest. Franklin likes his imports and Trevor likes his dragsters, trucks and muscle DLC for Rockstar to consider. Would be fun. The game is Grand Theft AUTO after all Maybe with an audience to, Like in UK we have a drag strip in East London somewhere.
SesameStPimp
AshMan306
The reason why America is in love with auto box is that some of em are just a bit fat to reach a manual. Over here in the uk we get snow auto box's are piss poor in the snow where as manuals you can control the speed better.
