That's if they stop shooting at you at all, cause I remember GTA Vice City where the cops just kept on shooting at you once you were wasted. They stay with you, check that you really are dead and get ambulances to take you away to the morgue or hospital if you're not dead. You're an idiot. Say you're in cover and make then think they've shot you so they cease fire and move up slowly to check, while you slip away and make your escape.
