Wiseguy_Tony
Not a knock on either console, but the early models have been gaming hard for 5 or 6 years so overheating be it RROD or YLOD is going to be more common. Definitely something to keep in mind. My fat ole 80 GB PS3 YLOD'ed around July 25th. I was pissed, but I would have been even more upset if it had happened during my first GTA V play-through. I had it for like 5 years so of course now was the time for something to overheat. Least I had plenty of time to get it fixed though. Game responsibly my friends. Be careful with your older consoles. redx165
Couldn't you of added RROD and BSOD to this topic instead of splitting people into groups? damn you suck, guy. Read some of his posts. He's a 360 fanboy. Anyways the only PS3 that failed and that wasn't much was the launch ones. PS3 will break but that's mostly lack of care to the machine. redx165
If you actually read, theres already the exact same thread just with RROD in the title. calm your sony vagina There isn't one that has the title. There's no reason to not add RROD. All I see is a angry fanboy mad cause the PS3 version of GTA V will be better.

Ryder 556
The disc drive on my PS3 is broken so I'm going to either be buying a new one in 2 weeks, or I'll be buying the PS3 bundle. And even then I have a slim, and a slim getting the YLoD is extremely rare.

Distrom
I would go to the store an buy a new one. YLOD doesn't even exists anymore.
SaintsRow3
I would just go buy a slim version of either PS3 or maybe an Xbox 360.
CoolDust
I would play it on my other PS3... If the disk was trapped inside I would open it up and do the fix
AtomicPunk
The answer to that ? I won't be buying a 360 that's for sure. If you don't have a 360 by now, you're missing a handful of great games, but I agree. I like the PS3 way better. The two times that I had problems with my PS3, I called Sony and they sold me a new one for 130 bucks but I had to send my broken one to them. I got a new 'old one' that plays PS2 discs. That was about 4-5 years ago.

Johan
Definitely buying a new one, I can easily just use my 360 but I hate that piece of trash lol I use it like once a month just to get the damn free gold games.
Rock Howard
What would be your reaction? Just the same as with the XBox question for me. Take the disc out, go into the next room and play it on the other PS3, or play the 360 version... Edited August 11, 2013 by Rock Howard

7csc
I have a slim but if that happened i would be freaking mad. I don't have too much possibilities to buy another one , so I needed to wait a year to buy a new one
Rock Howard
Actually no, I'd just go back to playing GTA III on PS2. That would be as good, right?

IDredMan
@nigel thanks. And owners of both consoles. What would you do if you popped GTAV in your PS3, got a YLOD, went out to buy a 360 version, popped it in and got a RROD?
AshMan306
The chance of getting YLOD is extremely slim but i will say this watch out if you put the disk in and you get an error message saying can not read disk. Its your blue ray i had it happen when i got blk ops2 (i know im gonna get killed) but it would play other games no problem. Done a search online and found out that sony was treating this as a blue ray problem. So got a super slim and ill be keeping it till it burst's into flames. I sold my xbox 360 in fear of the RROD
