dzjx
R* did say that the map will be double sided, like the physical map that comes with the game, not sure why though?

GTAaLEX117
Depends on your expectations I guess, but by simply comparing Los Santos to the whole SA map you can get an idea of how big the whole map will be. I personally think that it's going to be huge.
brwhizz
I had huge expectations of the map but as we neared the release date it seemed to me the map is much smaller than what everyone expected.do you feel the same? Unless you have access to secret information, you haven't seen the full map yet. Whatever size it is, it'll be an absolutely gorgeous work of art. wwinterj
Los Santos seems smaller than I'd hope but the map size itself seems fine. R* haven't shown the whole map and it's hard to tell the scale of the map based on what we have seen so far. We won't know the scale until we play the game. That's why I'm hoping Los Santos is bigger than it seems. I also hope there is a lot to do around the map. Pointless having a big map if it's empty and not utilized to it's full potential. gwaha
It was stated that is was the biggest open world game to date so who really knows? It is Rockstar's biggest open world game, not the biggest ever open world game. Also, the map may be 5 x RDR but this includes water and likely interiors as well. @dzjx I am confused about their statement on the inclusion of a double-sided map considering my copy of GTA SA already had this as well. imnottpain
Swear to christ, if i see too many more of these posts that jump to these retarded conclusions I will shoot myself in the foot. For the last time, wait till we have the game in hand before we judge.

Ferocious Banger
It will feel smaller than what most people are expecting. San Andreas and RDR aren't as big as most people think and remember. SA felt bigger than it was due to the low draw distance and in RDR you're limited to traveling by horse through winding trails and a lot of the areas you could see were inaccessible. Also, in RDR you don't have the ability to get really high in the air and get a good look at the map. Those illusions aren't available in GTA V. You'll be able to stand on the Vinewood hill and pretty much see across the whole map. You'll be able to see Los Santos, the Alamo Sea, and multiple towns from the same spot. Also, in RDR you don't have the ability to get really high in the air and get a good look at the map. I can most of the map standing at the Nekoti rock. Tacymist
I had huge expectations Never go in with high expectations, that usually leads to disappointment. I've learned this long ago with games and I've been able to enjoy them much better ever since, even GTA.
