Siandago Posted August 10, 2013 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Since GTA V is a nearly coming, let discuss about what would happen in the gaming world after the release date of the long awaited. Will GTA V reach the powerful impact like when GTA SA took place on the gaming industry in 2004? Will it be able to outshine every game in this year? Every typical fanboy answer is likely to be 'Yes', but for me, I say that it would be over hyped, and that will unfortunately hurt the game, turning it to less expected to fans. GTA SA Was a more of an *180* change from previous GTA games, regardless of 'Rockstar' on their multiple changes in each game, which provided them more success, but i have a different sense that we will be in the same boat as we were in 2002 waiting for GTA Vice City. Pretty much not much will change from this gen to the next, unlike past generations! It would be as of GTA 3 is GTA IV while GTA Vice City is GTA V. These generations of gaming are more similar now, which make games that is in a series lose taste of variety. GTA SA, and from my point of view is easily the best game in the series currently, many people will say GTA IV, but it did not focus on the story enough, yes! They provided : Nice graphics, realistic physics, more react-able environment, but it missed one main booster for the developing perfection which is the : #Story Mode. Pretty much GoTY is kind of hard for GTA V unfortunately, if they keep the same route as they did with GTA IV, there are multiple games that will probably slaughter GTA V based on story, and including 'The Last of Us', which received 50+ perfect scores, i won't think it will reach that amount of perfect scores unfortunately. I still have hope though, but it might be a little bit difficult. The Question is : Will GTA V ever reach the high impactful influence as GTA SA stroke the world in 2004? At the end of the day, keep less hype, get more pleasure! Do you think that they will focus on the story more? Even though GTA V will probably be a great game, I doubt it will get GOTY. Everybody seemed hyped as f*cking f*ck for The Last of Us (even more than GTA V). But I, personally don't give a donkey's sh*t if it gets GOTY or not. I've been a big fan of Rockstar since GTA: San Andreas and I was never disappointed with their games. Also they were new to the engine ) VC - RDR ( They improved on certain things ) SA - V ( They saved the best for last ) I remember Gamespot gave The Last of Us 8/10 same as MW3. I mean The Last of Us is so much better than MW3 and isn't a copy and paste. I like to see from Spike VGA. I remember watching it in 2010 hoping for RDR. Now I'm hoping for either TLOU or GTA V ( If it truly is a better game ) Well GTA V isn't about the story while TLOU is. So if a company only cares about story TLOU will destroy GTA V. Last of Us may have an amazing story but what is 12-15 hours compared to hundreds of hours in GTA? Bioshock Infinite was also amazing but as I say nothing beats V when it comes to fun factor and replay value. I'd be shocked if V doesn't win GOTY award. Yea, but III created a big shock-effect. The transition from GTA II to III was amazing and unbelievable at the time. You use review ratings as an argument why VC and SA were such good games but then you say IV was dull. Meanwhile IV has a really high review rating on most sites ect. Every single magazine on this fine green earth will have it's own choice, just like any of us can have our choice of the best game of the year, and some of them will reward GTA, others will think some other game was better this year.. but there is no universal truth. It's not like an MVP award, or Golden Ball award where only one player can get it and no one else can. GOTY is just an opinion and everyone has one, including every magazine or internet site and there is no way to say ''this site was better in giving goty than that other site''. I agree Red Dead Redemption is one of Rockstar's best games. But most of them came from SA fanboys.... If SA didn't exist, i assure you that IV will be much appreciated than what it is now. It's overrated by some sites yeah, but it's seriously underrated by the community. People, don't judge games based on things it didn't had, but by the things it featured. I'm sure even you would agree that San Andreas is the most overrated game of the series. (By the fans) Not to say it's a bad game, quite the opposite really. Another underrated GTA would be VCS. GTA V gives you different angles, different reasons for characters to act in certain ways, it's versatile and gives you more than just one side to a coin. it gives you three, so to speak. Also you are right about GTAV aswell, the story looks like it will be awesome and the game is a super, super large open world game and if im not mistaken it will last a lifetime i know ill never get bored of it ever. No doubt fanboys disagree but it's true, V will live for years because it's a sandbox game and because it will more than likely be made for next gen too. If you wanna compare stories between V and The last of us, that's fine but lets wait for GTA to come out first. IMO, it won't be great, heists sound fun but doing 2 will be the same as doing 10. How would you know if The Last of Us is good? I've seen you wank over PC more than once. You're just angry because you have to wait 5 months or so for a PC version. You've only seen the beginning and the ending and you have no idea about the revolutionary features in The Last of Us.
