That is why it got so much recognition. It's not GTA V. That doesn't mean you can turn into a defensive fanboy and blabber on about how GTA V will be the greatest game ever. It was incredibly linear, but that's fine with me because it's precisely that linearity that allowed it to have such a strong, focused narrative. In terms of gameplay and longevity, GTA V will smoke The Last of Us, which borders on interactive movie at best. And I'm not implying that V's story will be bad, we just won't know until September. What that means for GOTY is difficult to predict. All those perfect scores for TLoU can't be ignored, but who's to say V won't have plenty of its own? Watch Dogs is an original concept. GTA V is a sequel. Realistically, no matter how much I love GTA, I do not think it will be game of the year. I think the critics would let the new guys have it. It will be highest ranking metacritic game ever, just as IV was at the time of release, and it will be goty. If No, which game will be on the top ?I believe, GTA V have lots of chance to be GOTY ! It looks really fine, and R* works hard on it, however some aspects of the game are disturbing for some people, and maybe it couldn't be allowed to be GOTY. So what do you think ? It felt like it like naughty dog took all boring aspects of uncharted and remade their version of manhunt. The dialogue and voice actors were amazing though.even had some real emotional pull. Some reviewers will mention how "it's still Grand Theft Auto" and treat it as if the series has been milked like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed this generation despite the fact it's only the second full, proper GTA this generation. I think every website that had the balls to give last of us a 10 will still be in acquisition of the same pair they did a few months back. And i really don't think there will be low scores, there weren't for the uncharted game and its not like IV is marginally better, at least based on what's been seen. It's not that good... This is why I hate the GTA forum. You sometimes get the most bias opinion ever. There's a reason why people love the last of us. It's a great game with a great story. It's movements are fluid and fun. Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean its a bad game. There's a reason why it got so many perfect scores. OT: Anyways seeing how TLOU is a PS3 exclusive most likely GTA V will win. Companies rather choose one that's on both platforms than just on one. If you still think TLOU is sh*t tell me your PSN so I can see if you're a real PSN player or just a Xbox player who's mad that it isn't on their system. But you know how these awards are and The Last of Us will probably take more which is disappointing. Not that the game is bad, but it's definitely very overrated. No way The Last Of Us wins GOTY, It's an exclusive. Watch Dogs and Bioshock Infinite are far more realistic contenders.
