Sony payed Rockstar abunch of money to advertise their logo and gameplay. just like microsoft did with GTAIV It made more sense back in the day when Microsoft was really trying to build the 360's install base, not to mention GTA was pretty much synonymous with PlayStation before GTA IV. Microsoft went all-out to make their console look like the perfect home for GTA. Now Sony is doing the same thing (minus any exclusive DLC), but this late in the cycle it's not going to mean much. Most people have already bought their PS3s over the past 7 years, whether for GTA IV or any other game. It's not going to be as big a system seller, especially with new consoles right on the horizon. In the end Sony will probably at most get a little bit of extra content on the PS3 version like RDR had which Take-Two/Rockstar didn't even acknowledge and wasn't found out until the Thursday or Friday before release. There's still plenty of room for people to buy a PS3, just because new consoles are coming out in about three months doesn't mean no one is going to buy current gen hardware again. Current gen console sales still have a good two to three years left in them before they really drop off and they won't be discontinued until they're no longer worth producing. ^ Plus there's the bundled GTA V PS3 with the GTA logo headphones. I'm guessing you don't understand their plan. Most people would go for GTA V for 360 cause GTA IV and RDR were true 720p on 360 while a ported 640p on PS3. Now that GTA V is a true 720p on PS3 and that a lot of people own both consoles and if they see the advertisement it might get them to get it for PS3. All Sony has to do is have a exclusive DLC for PS3. It's a win win for both companies. To Xbox players don't say it isn't fair. We would get some crappy small DLC while you guys got REAL DLCs with IV. Also a lot of people know when new consoles come out there are sh*ttly games for it and some have problems.
