LaDispute
I doubt highly it will be "untouched" for next gen consoles. Edited August 10, 2013 by LaDispute
ozzsoad
What's the point though? It's not like there's a night and day difference between current and next gen. Why buy the game a second time for pretty much no reason? because I don't feel like having my 360 take space up in my room when it's 5 years old. sorry brah First off, it's almost 8 years old. Second, the 360 is still a great console, it's not magically obsolete the moment the XBOne comes out. Games will still be playable on it, why get rid of it? Third, it'll be at least several years before we'll get Rockstar to re-release it on the next gen consoles, if ever. And final, don't use the word "brah". Seriously. K20
i'll only get it for the One if it doesn't come out on PC.
GTAVTheHeat
I dont think it will, San Andreas didnt get released for Ps3 or 360, its a different generation, they've already stated they don't do that. If their past is anything to go by it will not show up on next gen platforms. Not only is this the stupidest idea, but would negate them doing all of this work on the current gen platforms. THINK PEOPLE, THINK.
AmoebaJuice
What's the point though? It's not like there's a night and day difference between current and next gen. Why buy the game a second time for pretty much no reason? The difference in graphics detail between the PS3 and PS4 is not that huge, however the difference is easy to see, even an old person can look at a comparison video and see the difference, but this time around it's different because graphics have reached a certain level where no matter how much better the newer gen system may look, the previous gen one will still look good, again it all depends on who you are and what you look for in your games... There are no doubt lots of graphics whores out there that for some reason must have the latest and greatest in order to be happy, even if the difference is extremely tiny. K.Walters
Next gen consoles and PC have similar something, I don`t know what exactly. I would say architecture, but really I have no idea. I just know that they have something similar meaning that it will beasier to convert next gen console game to PC and vice versa. So I would asume that GTA5 will be released on Next gen consoles around May 2014 and then for PC on September 2014, because R* are smart, they know that there will be people who will get the game on launch, then on next gen consoles and then on PC so they would be milking the same person 3 times for the same game with minor improvements. GG R*, GG. And I can`t blame them, their games are perfect and awesome. I haven`t been dissapointed by any of their games so far. So I would asume that next gen version will have increased view distance, 1080p, higher framerate though I wouldn`t mind 30 if it doesn`t go lower. GTA4 sometimes goes down to 20 when a lot is going on. Also it would be sweet if R* released a special PS4 bundle with GTA5, because I will pick up PS4 together with GTA5 when it comes out.. Like maybe regular black PS4 with GTA5 logo on it and the controller + the game itself. That would be some coop between R* and Sony. I know they are doing that with PS3 so maybe the same might happen to PS4 when they release it.
Cheatti
Yes, you will be able to play it on PS4 I believe, because on PS4 there is Gaikai...
kudoboi
Why would you even get a next gen console? Unless you're a graphics whore. - Bigger maps (render distance etc). - Better AI - Bigger Multiplayer (more players) - Better frame rate - Better and more games - Better network - Better controller - GTA VI Who said they would upgrade V if they come to next gen consoles? No game is better than GTA and GTA VI hasn't even been announced. they would unless they are lazy. they did that for GTA IV on PC so they probably would. id imagine 64 players MP on next gen and 200+ on PC and more peds/ vehicles, bigger draw distance, 60FPS on PC and 60FPS(720P)/ 30FPS(1080P) on next gen and special visual effects like better shadows, smokes, explosions etc and possibly better textures too

simonp92
You would buy the exact same game again just to not have your 360 under your TV? Use the money towards a bigger TV-stand.
wraaker
Why would you even get a next gen console? Unless you're a graphics whore. Graphics are a big part of gameplay. Stop saying graphics doesn't matter, because it does. I enjoy both PC and PS3 games but I do rather play games on my PC if it comes with way better graphics. PHOENIXZERO
And here we go again. Stop using San Andreas as an example, it was first released a year before the XB360 came out and the PC/XBox version came out about five months before the XB360 and it was backwards compatible with the new console. There was zero point in porting to to the XB360 zero incentive to get people to buy it. To give it a "HD Facelift" would have required redoing everything from the ground up. GTA V's assets are already made at a higher quality and are scaled down for both current gen consoles so there's no issue there. The PS4 and XBO are not backwards compatible and unlike like last generation GTAs the current generation has DLC which provides Rockstar/Take-Two a reason to sell a "GOTY" or "Complete" package and enough incentive for people to buy it. The work required isn't going to be anywhere close to what it would have taken to release GTA SA up to next/current gen standards. Obviously it's not in development at this point and it won't be out in a few months, more like a year or more after the current generation release. It also won't be handled by Rockstar North so they'll be freed up to do other projects as I'm sure the duty make a PC version will be passed to one of Rockstar's other studios as IV was. The PS4 and XBox One versions would be based off the PC version that everyone should damn well know is coming. Rockstar isn't going to say a damn thing about it until well after the current gen version is released, the PC version will probably be announced near the end of the year or early next year. And if I'm wrong about the the next gen version, oh well I'll be buying the PC version anyway.
