Tyg0903
My cousin works for PETA and when I got back from Iraq in 2003 after nearly being killed multiple times and losing some really close friends the first question she asked me was "Did you guys kill a lot of animals?" f*ck PETA. These people value animals lives over humans. I just dont get it.
HoleInTheSky
Anyone who values an animal's life over another human's, has lost their right to be called a human being, and should be swiftly dealt with. 73duster
PETA did NOTHING about RDR, so I don't see them stepping in with GTAV. Politicians looking to make a name for themselves are FAR more of a threat to GTAV than PETA.
Prestb97
No one takes PETA seriously, they're a borderline cult and I'd hope there's a parody of them in the game. They have zero authority and power to do anything with this and what little good they've done is negated by the overwhelming bullsh*t they've pulled over the years. This stuff only serves one purpose and that's to bring more attention to themselves. They won't be able to resist so just wait until the game is out. This! If they do add a parody of PETA, I'll make sure to test out the effectiveness of various weapons on them in-game.

BlackNoise
We will probably never hear anything just like with RDR. And I wish people would stop using that same argument about the setting. PETA doesn't care about the setting, which is why they don't mind talking about the whaling in a pirate game. I'm guessing they avoid developers like R*. It would just make more people hate PETA and more importantly, R* would sh*t all over them in their games.

kastrenzo
I do not condone or endorse the killing or maiming of animals in any way, especially domestic animals like dogs and cats *pets/companions*, and some games like Battlefield 4 have been oh so casual about depicting slaughtering dogs. that said, correct me if I'm wrong since I'm not American, but PETA freaks out about everything, and isn't PETA the same group that seizes cats and dogs from owners that they deem shouldn't have pets, and then the same animals end up euthanized 2 weeks later? kastrenzo
Rockstar is basically a superpower... PETA won't try to f*ck with them because of how easily R* could destroy their entire cult. Uh.. Rockstar has absolutley no power whatsoever outside of the Entertainment industry, and they're pretty disliked by many outside of the entertainment scene *people who don't play games and whatnot*, even within the industry too Let's not get ahead of ourselves with blind fanboyism here... technically they're still the child company of take-two interactive as well
motorider420
Not at all... Hunting happens in real life everyday. There are games dedicated to hunting, and PETA has never said a word. PETA focuses on the obscene mistreatment of animals, like whaling...

But that's a pretty f*cking big industry It doesn't matter who dislikes them, with how big they are and how much of an influence they have. They could slap huge anti-PETA signs in everything R* and it would be everywhere in the world for people to see PETA doesn't want that
Landotel
I still remember when PETA screwed over Pokemon and Mario. I noticed how they are aiming at Nintendo games most likely. So if PETA does make a GTA 5 ripoff than they will be sewed in court.
Bantri
GTA has always been controversial franchise. Not only GTA, but if we take a look at Rockstars other titles, almost all of their games are reprehensible. With the new hunting system, the list will only increase. Although they have implemented hunting before in RDR but got away with it (because of the setting). But what about now? Will PETA interfere? I guess the answer is pretty obvious. I'm actually pretty surprised PETA hasn't said anything about it as of now. I read an article where PETA supposedly complained about whaling in Ubisoft's upcoming title AC: Black Flag. Interestingly they haven't uttered a word about GTA V. Maybe Rockstar has somehow temporarily suppressed them? What do you think? What's different in GTA 5 than Red Dead Redemption? Are killing animals now irrelevant? People still hunt, animals get killed. It all comes down to being politically correct, which is quite sad. Even more sad that an organization would even get upset over it when it's not real. How come video games let you kill people, many people. Games like Saw even, and other graphic torturous games, to our own species. How is this perfectly fine, but it's bad that hunting is in a game because you kill animals?!? It's absurd. Especially since it's all not real to begin with. Video games should let you do anything, and give you freedom from life, there is no need for outside real life organizations to get involved. I'd much rather PETA partition against real animal cruelty and spend their efforts there instead of fighting a video game.
FutoDriver
Oh man, It's almost as if GTA fans get off on the controversy as much as Fox News. Look, No one has really said anything about GTA in a while. It won't mean anything and never has meant anything when they do. There is no real controversy unless it was banned from sale, when did that last happen to one of your GTA games? San Andreas and only because it included a mini game Rockstar themselves didn't want to be there.
CryptReaperDorian
No sane person follows PETA's bullsh*t. So, having PETA get upset over GTA V would barely even be "controversy".
redx165
f*ck PETA. This. Jesus god forbid we kill some infinitly spawning computer generating animals. That's what I'm saying and I feel peta should have no control over video games.

IceHot100
PETA can't do anything if the purpose for killing the animals is hunting Firstly, bash me if you want but I myself am against hunting, if you do it for fun. But that's offtopic and has noting to do with the game. So what about domestic animals or cattle? I'm pretty sure they can be killed...
