Ya know... not everyone in this world just want sex out of relationships. It may be difficult for you to understand, but some like the idea of being close and intimate with someone that cares... loves even... It's not just exclusive to chicks from South Africa. i didn't hate south africa before but now i do because of this guy making a comment like that

sivispacem
I don't know anyone who hates South Africa for anything other than the legacy of apartheid. Though it must be said I'm deeply concerned about endemic racism, violent crime, political corruption and sexual violence there, the latter in particular. Isn't South Africa basically the rape capital of the world? Hodgey.
I know that South Africa has had alot of problems in recent times and some of them still seem to be happening at times in South Africa. However i cant say that i know of anyone who hates the country or have heard anyone complain about it all the time.
LittleBlueTroll
One of the main reasons behind the hate is because of the murder of Mufasa. Although Scar was eventually brought to justice by Simba, with the help of a wild pack of hyenas, it never really helped aid the loss of such a great leader. I think the country is still struggling to get to grips with what happened at Pride Rock.

Oh for sure, you're definitely right, Being an 17-18 year old back then obviously I wasn't really looking for a meaningful relationship. Even now, i'm kinda not haha, More so than when I was 18 though. Like the whole spooning because I care for/love my girlfriend would make sense if we'd been dating a while, but it'd only been a few weeks since we'd gotten closer, and usually during that time you're heaps keen for each other and just wanna suck face and all that haha, you're not doing all that cutsie stuff, that usually comes a little later. But nope, she was dead-set on no sex, which as I said, for an 18 year old guy...is kinda a big deal. Perhaps now I could understand that a little more, but I dunno, maybe I am shallow haha. I don't hate South Africa though haha, that was just a joke.
Kiffster
Isn't South Africa basically the rape capital of the world? Well this is weird... I googled rape statistics because I was curious, and Sweden of all places came out tops Wtf?? But I know SA has a massive sexual violence problem tho, unfortunately. Lock n' Stock
I don't hate South Africa, though I do admit the place has alot of problems in modern society like sexual violence, brutal farm murders, corruption, racial hostility and whatnot. Moonshield
weird love them or hate them (mostly hate them) electro/pop/rap group. People that aren't Lady Gaga fans hate Die Antwoord? I haven't met a single person that dislikes them. Hell, my only qualm with modern South Africa is Adriaan, but that's a different thing entirely. They're absolute f*cking garbage, musically. The only benefit they provide is shock/entertainment value. Just like much of South Afrikkka.

RonDutch
There are four mainstream representations of South Africa. 1. Nelson Mandela 2. Lethal Weapon 2 3. District 9 4. Die Antwoord One is a legit positive representation, two are movies that make South Africa look bad, and the last is a weird love them or hate them (mostly hate them) electro/pop/rap group. You forgot Benni McCarthy and Steven Pienaar
Distrom
They invented the rape, they're paraplegics are out of control and they did bad things to Morgan Freeman. Also the World Cup there was f*cking awful, as far as World Cups go it was probably the worst one since USA '94, in fact it was even worse than that. Worst. World. Cup. Ever. It wasn't remembered for the football played, which, because of the retarded ball design, was awful. It will always be remembered for an annoying musical instrument. The stadiums were sh*t and generally unfilled, and it was an allround crap atmosphere and event. The Vuvuzelas were f*cking horrible.
GTA_stu
Isn't South Africa basically the rape capital of the world? Well this is weird... I googled rape statistics because I was curious, and Sweden of all places came out tops Wtf?? This was actually discussed in a topic not long ago, like literally last week. You know this forum does talk a lot about rape. Basically, Sweden comes top because of the way the crime is reported. It's reported way more in Sweden, but that doesn't necessarily mean it actually has the most rapes. In South Africa and other less developed countries the justice system is not as effective, and the culture is different, and people will report rapes a lot less. More developed countries, like Sweden, also tend to have a broader classification of what actually constitutes rape. So basically if there are a 1,000 rapes in Sweden, 900 might get reported, but if there are 10,000 in South Africa only 100 might get reported. That's why it appears that Sweden is highest. It's not surprisingly really, Scandinavian countries have historically had the most progressive approach to rape, going back a thousand years or so. So basically, the Vikings may have been all about raping and pillaging, but after the former they held lengthy trials that often ended in execution. No, really. That's not a joke. Shyabang Shyabang
I know that South Africa destroyed her nuclear arsenal many years ago, which is a positive image. I'm fascinated by Kruger National Park and its wildlife. The first time that I learned about Kruger National Park was from this video that I watched 6 years ago: People around me rarely think about South Africa. A few of us are aware of the high crime rate in South Africa, especially after watching a reporter talk about his experience getting robbed during the World Cup. The Korean reporter had been from a city that doesn't have any dangerous areas. So he didn't realize that there were dangerous areas in Johannesburg that he had to avoid. The first South Africans I think of are Nelson Mandela, F. W. de Klerk, Charlize Theron, and Lee-Anne Pace.
