Best GTA game

Anyway, voted for Vice City. Liberty City Stories is also my favorite.

Grand theft Auto: San Andreas, but I think Grand Theft Auto: V will replace this.

For me it's GTA IV through I like all GTA games. Well I think SA is a great game but the problem is it has too many glitches and bugs and also the mess with the interiors and some unedited things from the beta like leaving some of the dialog from the changed missions. However this is my second best game becouse of the good story, big world and lots of stuf to do. And Vice city was great too. It had a great 80s Miami vibe and a great storyline. Even through IV doesn't have the content of SA the gameplay is a lot better. It made the feeling that I am in a real city with real people. So the list goes:

1. GTA IV and DLCs

2. GTA San Andreas

3. GTA Vice City

4. GTA Vice City Stories

5. GTA Liberty City Stories

6. GTA 3

I have not put the 2D games cause haven't played them.

I have a few reasons why San Andreas is my favorite Grand Theft Auto to date.

 

The first reason has to be the weapons in the game and the weapon diversity. Ranging from Guns, Melee weaspons, sex toys to flowers this game had a lot of weapon diversification.

 

The second reason why San Andreas is my favorite GTA game is for the flying. At first this feature was very annoying as I wasn't a good pilot in the game and I had wished Zero's missions and the Flying school ceased to exist. But at the end flying is what led to some of the games most challenging and fun missions. New Model Army for one. Had to try that mission 100 times to pass it the first time but now I hold the fastest completions times of that mission in this forum.

 

I would also like to say that even though San Andreas had a total of 250 collectibles compared to IV's 200 anyone would argue the Flying rats were anyway more annoying to complete. I never even bothered to collect all of them to this day.

 

IV's missions also seemed boring, the game was more realistic yes in terms of the story but most missions consisted of going from Point A to B and killing some people, then passing the mission. San Andreas was very unrealistic at times with the story but the missions had diversity and they were fun. I know a lot of people prefer realism but this is only my opinion.

 

I could write many more reasons but you guys get the point. Vice City is a close second but San Andreas just has something extra that makes it the best GTA game for me.

GTA IV + EFLC. I've started to take more of a liking to TBOGT actually. I still prefer GTA IV and TLAD, but TBOGT is a good game. I guess I never gave it a chance.

 

GTA IV on its own is better than every GTA that predates it, but with EFLC it's a no contest. VC is still king however pre-GTA IV IMO.

 

shoumic: The only two missions in SA that stood out for me were "Are You Going To San Fierro?" and "Body Harvest".

 

Personally I love GTA IV's more grim and hitman style missions.

Even though I've played GTA IV the most out of all games in the series I consider GTA Vice City the best one because of the atmosphere and the features such as businesses and such. San Andreas does come in a close second place.
