redx165
IMO they will not top San andreas BUT i think this game will be close to it in terms of mission diversity and activities to do. Gun Controls - V > SA Movement - V > SA Car Movement - V > SA Story - Optional Environment - V > SA ( I don't know about you but SA countryside was lifeless and Los Santos is the only interested city in the game. ) Cheats - ( Got to wait for GTA V ) So with that GTA V WILL BEAT GTA SA. Why did people prefer SA > IV? That's because it's bigger and a lot more to do in it. GTA V has the BIGGEST city to date. Most realistic and lifelike countryside we got Plus a REAL UNDERWATER WORLD. Please leave the GTA series and move to the Saints Row series. Those games do not want to be realistic in anyway.
LibSity
I find it funny that people think IV's missions were repetitive, but V's won't be. There will be some diversity, but they will all center around the idea of a heist.

98 in 1
The fact that I still play IV five years after release tells me that V won't be disappointing. Hell, if all R* did was change the map (GTA IV with palm trees anyone?) and kept everything relatively the same, I probably would still play the sh*t out of V. It's a real shame you don't get as much enjoyment out of playing it as some of us do.
kj2022
TBoGT fixed all of the problems wth IV. So V will not be disappointing. not all ! for example it didn''t have planes and nether a tank ! it had that weak APC ! I'm not sure if you're being serious... I'm not talking about the tank or anything but TBOGT didn't really fix anything. Same boring city, still nothing to do after you beat the story ( Not like SA and V ), bad controls and etc.. V is what fixed IV and the GTA series. I was talking about the planes thing, Rockstar already said it was because it was a strictly urban environment and wouldn't have worked. Don_Corleone
So you just made a topic to say why you didn't like IV and created a stupid 'link' with V to prevent it getting locked. As they say, cool story bro.

G D
*MVC sits at this desk scratching his chin contemplating whether to ban these GTA IV bashers* As tempting as that sounds that would be a gross abuse of power boarding on fascism. jk It would be a pretty tedious task though lol. True story... Does anyone notice that most of the people saying "IV is the worst game ever!" - "San An is the best game ever!" Seem to be complete idiots? G D
After GTA V comes out, I guarantee you that the internet will be crawling with tons of people who claim that it's a huge disappointment, with long and detailed lists of reasons that "prove" it. Of course it won't be as bad as it was with the GTA IV backlash... the sin that game committed was being so different from San Andreas, i.e. the fanboy favorite, the golden christ child of the GTA franchise. But people will invent their reasons for hating on V as well. You'll see. I'm at how true this statement is. IV surpassed San Andreas way back in 2008 and people still say "Will V surpass SA" SA should be hailed as one of the most overrated games of all-time. OT: Awesome story dude! i can't display more intellect than your post no matter how much detailed i seem. Hurpa Durpa, I am a Hipsta!

DarthMaster
GTA 4 was a pretty disappointing game but not horrible, it just lacked a lot of the cool features San Andreas had. Edited August 26, 2013 by DarthMaster

Considering that there are people who still bitch about games like The Last of Us, Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, etc, the criticisms for V are imminent. There are actually people in the world who HATE (not just dislike, which is just fine, but actually HATE) The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Game of Thrones, Chuck Norris, The Godfather, etc etc. Probably the biggest cop out is when they say things such as "I like whatever I damn well please" They are kinda right, but still...learn to shut the f*ck up. LSPD-GTAV
The graphics look better in V, we have mountains to explore that are better than Red Dead Redemption, flyable planes again, freight trains, better police lighting/police AI, big desert with multiple towns, underwater exploration with hidden treasures, sunken cargo ships, sunken air planes, submarines, scuba gear, military vehicles, better guns that are customize-able, more vehicles that are customize-able, more interiors, more places to rob, nice sandy beaches, marijuana use, drinking, big heists, and GTA Online. YEAH, IT'LL BE DISAPPOINTING. It will be the best game of the year people. It will have a very long replay factor.
BioVirus
The thing is, GTA V has so many features and a huge map, that even if the storyline sucks.... you will still have fun in the sandbox world. GTA IV had nothing to do, that's why it was boring.

Momobearqt
I'm losing hope for GTA V seeing how bad IV was. Rockstar messed Grand Theft Auto up big time with this generation. Hopefully they can get back on track with the next generation of consoles. "I'm losing hope for GTA V seeing how bad IV was." Your logic makes 0 sense to me. "Rockstar messed Grand Theft Auto up big time with this generation." This is the first time I'm hearing this. You seem like you saw none of the screenshots and gameplay videos. So there is no possibility of "Could be disappointing" for me. Do you have any other theory why GTA V 'could' be disappointing besides 'GTA IV SUCKED BIG TIME, GTA V WILL SUCK TOO DUH'. ill-thoughts
like someone said on page 1, BOGT fixed everything that was wrong with GTA4.....so im sure theyll port over the fight clubs, gang drug and turf war elements and sex sex sex all over the place. now the Online is another thing, i think its going to be God Awful on current gen with 16 players. hopefully we can private match with maybe 3 other people. gtamodguy
I was kinda hoping it would be 32 players, but with all the features it has, I can deal with 16. I mean, what did we all do in 2008? Some things will never change like the triangle button. It has always meant "Enter/Exit" , so the core features will always be there. GTA IV had fast cars(but they were unsteady), helicopter physics were completely upgraded(no more accidental flips), and police actually lost sight even though they still recognized your position. Just for everyone who thinks it could dissappoint, here is a list of features that are brand new to GTA V Police use line of sight system, they have to see you to continue pursuit Aircraft and land vehicles can be customized Map is bigger than San Andreas was. Vehicle physics can be controlled. It was in an interview that you can tune your car to be similar to GTA IV or to seem like a race car from a racing game(assuming Midnight Club, but possibly NFS as well) Deeper storyline...the trophy leak says it all. Like the Leonora Johnson Mystery...maybe it has something to do with Carl JOHNSON? 3 protagonists. I mean come on, its like switching between Johnny, Niko, and Luis in 5 seconds instead of loading a new game or switching disks. One mission was shown. There will be a whole lot more missions. GTA: Online is a seperate entity. They said they will keep adding until they simulate life. They will add the world eventually if they want. Drifting is here Police helicopters have snipers now Cheats have returned If that wasn't enough, play San Andreas again and stop anticipating GTA V
