The Sullinator
It can't disappoint me, but I think some people would be. I've been seeing people talking about ridiculous things that they think is going to be in the game. I mean I know this game is a huge step up from IV, but some of the expectations people have are almost way larger than what I think R* can do right now with the technology they have. This game is going to be huge, and awesome...but I don't think the prison system is going to be advanced to the point where you go to court, go to jail, spend some time there. Or just any of the other almost too complicated stuff that I've seen people mention. I know this game is going to be great, but there is going to be a limit to how great. Either way it can't disappoint me, but the way I know some people act, they will say it is a disappointment to them.
Pleasure_Pier
It's a common practice for some whining kid to come and cry how GTA IV sucks. But you should realise that it didn't suck for every one. I absolutely loved it. So no, GTA V won't suck.

R0MN4G
Rockstar North (who actually are developing it) could make the game better by letting players have choices like in GTA IV. The problem is that in GTA IV there were not so many choices for player that could change the storyline/gameplay for the user. In the game "The Walking Dead", you always have a choice and every choice you make changes the gameplay. Maybe GTA V doesn't have to include to many available choices but still enough to feel that it is not a storyline that you have to follow. After every mission it could be cool to see on screen or on the internet what other players have chosen. I recognized in GTA V gameplay video that they mentioned that you will have choices in missions. We have to hope that it will be so in almost every mission. FCKNames
People dont understand that GTA IV was the first HD game, so they had to limit certain fetures at the time of development. It was also dark and a gritty story, they achieved that.... so Yep

I recognized in GTA V gameplay video that they mentioned that you will have choices in missions. We have to hope that it will be so in almost every mission. I do enjoy the choices, but the problem with them with the GTA franchise is that people want characters like Niko, and Packie, and maybe Roman to return in newer games. But how are they going to return when everyone has played a different version of the game? It can't work. That's why I'm sort of hoping they stray away from those situations in this next game. I hope we have big ones, but not ones that majorly affect the characters or their dialog in future games. I mean honestly I don't care if they return or not, but those choices are the biggest obstacle for if Rockstar wanted to bring them back, and one of the biggest reasons that they won't be brought back. The thing with The Walking Dead Game is the way it ended, they probably could still make a sequel with Clemente because no matter what she survives and Lee dies. Although with the DLC they released last month to bridge between the last game and the sequel, I'm not sure if that will happen.
BUT THE BENZ
I feel like the OP has already made up his mind about GTA 5 being a disappointment due to his opinion on the last installment. OP is simply stupid, or limited in his thinking or whatever if he feels that way to begin with. GTA 5 will be like RDR in many aspects and that game is one of the best games EVER developed, so it can't disappoint considering you get what RDR had to offer only set in present time - in a sunshine state where crime pays and strippers have jiggly tits. I might come across as ignorant and offensive here...but I gotta sincerely say F*CK OP & HIS OPINION
Famous-CLS
Remember how IV came out in 2008 and Rockstar have launched several games since then. All of which have been used to prepare for the big finale of current gen gaming.

XxPhillies26xX
GTA V will not disappoint DarthMaster trust me on that one. You've signed up for the GTA forums for a reason including myself and many others. We all signed up to have a great time and because we all love the GTA franchise. This game will be something special, memorial and noteworthy. GTA V could be one of the best games to be released this console generation and some of us don't even realize it. I can guarantee you R* is trying their best to make sure they make the highest quality entertainment product they can possibly make. Those workers at R* are fans just like us. So they understand your concerns as a fan. Once GTA V is released you will be very happy. That you followed this game and anticipated it. Years from now you will look back at this moment and be very thankful you was apart of every big tidbits of information that was released or to the trailers and of course the launch date which is the most exciting moment when a game officially comes out. One thing I must admit you will miss anticipating big news from the R* newswire or to loging on the GTA forums to check and see if any new information was posted. Once GTA V officially comes out some of us will eventually stop visiting the GTA forums unfortunately. So just try to enjoy this moment and really embrace it. Just remember why you signed up for the GTA forums and you follow this game. Things just happen for a reason in life just remember.

moKoE_LoCz
I agree. GTA IV was definitely (IMO) the weakest in the series. Don't get me wrong I like IV but it was to dull for me. The only thing that kepte were the graphics and the realism. But OT, I don't think V will be disappoint. R* listened to a lot of fans for V. They have obviously added wayyyy more to the game as far as things to do and what not. I think what R* heard the most is the lack of things there were to do in IV
Melech
GTA V will be far better than GTA IV. The shooting mode will be similar to Max Payne 3, there will be planes, army (probably tanks), new weapons, properties, businesses, a lot of ways you can waste your money, etc. Don't worry, Rockstar will have fixed the mistakes committed in GTA IV. You're too pessimistic! Edited August 10, 2013 by Felino1234
cerenn
Everyone always seems to forget you could do taxi missions in GTA 4. I'm glad you pointed this out. I pretty much forgot. It's a great microcosm of the issue I had with GTA IV. In previous GTA's, the developers turned taxi driving into mini-game. It wasn't constrained by realism or story. It had levels, speed bonuses, five in a row bonuses, and resulted in you being able to access better taxis upon completion. VCS even had fares with multiple destinations, fares that committed robberies (resulting in a wanted level for you), and fares that asked you to follow another car. It wasn't super fun, but I thought it was a great way to learn how to drive, navigate the map, and earn some decent cash at the beginning of the game. Now in GTA IV, it seems like R* always prioritized realism and Niko's story over gameplay. The taxi "mission" was available because it was Roman's business. After a certain event in the story, you couldn't access it. If you completed 10 fares, then Roman would tell you you're hogging all the business through a text message and the "mission" would no longer be available. Your reward, the measly $20-$30 per fare you completed. That's not much of a game or a mission. It's more like a...job.

Red Hat
The driving was very weird and you can't customize your vehicles. You also can't purchase properties and own businesses. The weapons were also lacking in IV. Rockstar took out the over the top weapons such as the chainsaw, flamethrower, minigun, etc. There also wasn't as many interiors as in past GTA games such as malls, clubs (minus TBOGT), 24/7s, ammu-nations, police stations, casinos, etc. There was almost nothing to do when you finish IV. Chill dude...GTA IV was R*'s first open world game on a new generation console(PS3 and Xbox360) at that time...and it would have been hard for them to master the consoles. The graphics weren't that great. As i said before GTA IV was R*'s first open world game...din't you see the massive improvement of the graphics in RDR? So i guess GTA V will have better graphics or almost better graphics than RDR.

BullworthAcademy.
People who play grand theft auto for story are retarded. In all GTA games the story was almost non existent so why give a sh*t about a story this time around in GTAV? San Andreas had a very sh*t story but that didn't stop me from having fun. Grand Theft Auto 4 is also still a very impressive game till this day, I haven't played it in years, but when I go to friend's pad and they're playing it I'm still amazed at how solid the game plays, sure graphics were sh*t but when did a GTA game ever had good graphics to begin with? GTA to me has always been about variety of options to choose from and I was able to still have that with GTA4. I noticed that most people who disliked GTA4 was because of the lack of customization with player and vehicles, and because the story wasn't gang-oriented. Cry me a f*cking river, GTA4 is still great, I sold the game a long time ago along with my xbox 360 but I miss the game so much that I want to go out and buy it for my ps3. BuskyChowChow
After GTA V comes out, I guarantee you that the internet will be crawling with tons of people who claim that it's a huge disappointment, with long and detailed lists of reasons that "prove" it. Of course it won't be as bad as it was with the GTA IV backlash... the sin that game committed was being so different from San Andreas, i.e. the fanboy favorite, the golden christ child of the GTA franchise. But people will invent their reasons for hating on V as well. You'll see. More likely than not this will happen :-/ For me I think its all about how a game surprises you and no Gta game surprised me as much and as consistently as SA. Im not looking for a SA remake, just for a game to surprise as much as SA did all those years ago :-)
