Do you like the new gun wheel system

Yes it seems a lot better to pull out a sniper rifle quickly to shoot a long range villain then quickly back to your machine gun than to push the left or right D-pad till you find the right weapon Also do people like how Max Payne could only hold a certain amount of weapons at one time

Lol you won't be able to do that with the D-pad, that's how you change characters.

yes, OP, I'm looking forward to the weapon wheel. loved it in RDR & MP3. Very happy it's coming to GTA. A very welcome improvement over the system in previous GTA games.

Good to see them not being shy about taking the superior weapon switching system of Saints Row, and having it replace their dated one.

 

That's why competition is a good thing, this change would have never came if it weren't for other sandbox games influencing GTA.

i liked it in RDR, and i always thought it would be in GTA V aswell, since it was also in Maxpayne.

I'm glad they made the switch to the weapon wheel. It's a lot more "smoother" in my opinion, not as hectic.

With 100% of people on yes as of right now (51 votes), this addition can definitely be marked as another positive improvement for GTA with V.

 

Personally, I love the wheel system. I'll never forget having to scroll left and right in the III era where you had a box around your weapon (didn't really like how in IV there was no longer a box; weird thing to get pissed about but whatever), especially since I regularly play SA-MP today. I've enjoyed the wheel system in the Saints Row series, always felt it would be welcome in GTA. I can't wait to be able to play like I do in SR(TT) in GTA V.

OK, now I know how people feel when they don't understand how I could possibly prefer having most of the map locked off at the beginning and gradually unlocking it section by section as I progress through the story.

I do and I don't. The only reason why I don't is because i feel like the weapon icons that you see when you scroll through your weapons in past GTAs won't be there, and to me those are like a big icon in GTAs for me.

I hated the old GTA weapon select.

 

There would be so many times where you could have no weapons out, someone would shoot at you, and you would take way more damage than you had to because you were f*cking with the D-Pad.

 

GTA IV sort of fixed it with the hot-keys, but I think the weapon wheel is the way to go.

Even Manhunt 2 had a weapon wheel. Not sure why it took GTA this long to get it.

I think other games had a similar wheel, but rockstars perfected it in RDR compared to saints rows, RDR has the ability to carry multiple guns of each type, like 4 revolvers at once, same with shotguns and rifles. I think you can carry multiple guns of each type in gta v, i saw the weapon wheel on the gameplay trailer and spotted two arrows on the selected gun, similar to rdr gun system.
