car insurance will work great with gta v imgane a hot new rod that you just customized and you wreck it some how, maybe some npc dick rear ends you and u need fix your car for instance but you dont have enough gta currency, without a hassle drop by in ls customs and get it fixed without paying !!!! i can see ® Implementing this !!

I'd actually like some sort of car insurance especially now we can actually buy cars. Plus something else to spend money on!

I agree It's a nice idee but it's probably too late to implement it now if they haven't already without telling us...

Well, most of your cars in GTA are stolen so It wouldn't be realistic. UNLESS you bought a car.

Why have insurance when you can park the car in your garage and go back 1 game day later to find your car fixed for free

Good idea though

Why do you want GTA to be realistic?

The opposite of realism aint saints row.

As some have mentioned, if its not already implemented then....

But it could be an idea for a mod. I dont know about the modding aspects for consoles but at least for a PC version that most think will come at a later date, it might be possible. Sort of like the fuel mod for IV. There was also an idea for IV to add-in to the police AI "bait-cars", where if Niko were to steal them, the doors would lock and kill the engine, the cops show up and you land in jail. Another, if you parked a vehicle too long someplace, it might get towed... Just different ideas people had come up w/ for realism. I remember something as simple as the turn-signal mod, simple and from a gaming standpoint "useless" but for realism it worked.

Most car insurances have deductibles, regardless of what the TV tells you. Therefore, you would still have to pay. Pay N Spray is the GTA insurance.

Car insurance is as perverted as the 'loan money with interest' scheme and I don't want it anywhere near GTA. That would be a drag.

Dude...hell the f*ck no. Going overboard with the realism stuff this is GTA where one of the MAIN points is stealing vehicles. This would prompt people to the opposite. Chill.

I think some people are just being stupid now , it's a game if you don't have enough money to fix your car then you will have to go beat up an npc and get some or do a mission

How about paying taxes?

Or some sort of social fund

Going to the gym, u must need a membership card

Road taxes

How about a Phone bill?

all fixed costs automatically transfered from ur account

I can definitely see GTAV having optional car insurance for cars that you purchase. This way, if your tricked-out 9F or Cheetah sinks to the bottom of the ocean or explodes, it will appear somewhere for pickup a few ingame days later.

With the game's vibrant economy, I actually am somewhat expecting car insurance. Its been a major complaint in every GTA game.

Or maybe instead of paying a Police Bribe, you pay Lawyer Fees to hire a top attorney.

It's not realistic, but still more believable than a Police bribe to get you out after you have killed 50+ people.

For regular accident damage it's just not needed. You drive to your nearest Los Santos Custom (there are no Pay 'n' Sprays in GTA:V remember) and get it fixed. The only way insurance could possibly be useful is as a mechanism to recover valuable modified vehicles that you have totally wrecked (e.g. exploded leaving a burnt out shell).

On the one hand it's a nice idea borrowed from real life. On the other hand, it might be taking realism a little too far. I mean, come on. Really? Car insurance in a computer game?

It wouldn't be the best of ideas but it's far from the worst I've heard. GTA has always had some sort of health insurance for the protagonists. In other words if you were killed for example, you were revived and respawned at the nearest hospital minus $100 or so. Which could be the excess.

I think car insurance would take things a tad too far on the realistic side. Imagine making reminders on your phone and then mid way through a mission you get a text to say you need to renew your car insurance. That would pee me off a bit!

I prefer the fuel idea for all intents and purposes, I can actually see that working for the most part. That way the electric car would make some sense other than a car that doesn't have an engine sound.

Lol Hes talking about claiming for tiny rear end collisions and using ls customs instead of claiming for free. Only way is if you buy ls customs

I think it's a wise idea if you've modified a car to exactly as you want it. If it gets damaged or stolen, then at least you'll get it back. Nothing was more annoying than finding a rare car in previous games and they got ruined outside your safe house or stolen (in IV).

I had a cop car parked out the front of my safe house (previously saved) in GTA IV, and I watched as cop proceeded to put someone in the back at gun point, and then wander off...
