Showstopper 26
If they are not relaunching the site yet over this they have lost their minds. 40 days, till launch. How long does the dispute they filed take to get approved/denied?
UltimateVenom
@MrSpooge Thanks for bringing this to our attention, this might indeed be the reason why the official interactive GTAV website isn't live yet! It can happen any day now - Tomorrow might be a good day? sh*t that's what I was thinking of I remember them saying that which is why I was following the Launch a bit closer then usual.. Maybe this thread isn't as redundant as one may think, but it could still be nothing. Plus why does it auto direct you to http://www.rockstargames.com/V/ when you go to GTAV.com? Doesn't that mean they'd already own it? Appears they do not own it... gtav.com registrar whois Updated 1 second ago Domain Name: GTAV.COM Registrar URL: http://www.godaddy.com Updated Date: 2012-11-02 15:14:32 Creation Date: 2008-01-18 15:24:01 Registrar Expiration Date: 2015-01-18 15:24:01 Registrar: GoDaddy.com, LLC Registrant Name: Juan Daniel Vallecillo Lara Registrant Organization: Registrant Street: Av las Americas, cc Americas plaza 26 Registrant City: Arona Registrant State/Province: Santa Cruz de Tenerife Registrant Postal Code: 38660 Registrant Country: Spain Admin Name: Juan Daniel Vallecillo Lara Admin Organization: Admin Street: Av las Americas, cc Americas plaza 26 Admin City: Arona Admin State/Province: Santa Cruz de Tenerife Admin Postal Code: 38660 Admin Country: Spain Admin Phone: +34.922792919 Admin Fax: +34.922793868 Admin Email: [email protected] Tech Name: Juan Daniel Vallecillo Lara Tech Organization: Tech Street: Av las Americas, cc Americas plaza 26 Tech City: Arona Tech State/Province: Santa Cruz de Tenerife Tech Postal Code: 38660 Tech Country: Spain Tech Phone: +34.922792919 Tech Fax: +34.922793868 Tech Email: [email protected] Name Server: NS01.DOMAINCONTROL.COM Name Server: NS02.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

Doland J. Trump
Why can't anybody get the fact that we don't need a goddamn interactive website? We've got a website with all the trailers, news and screens. R* does not need to reveal the map before the release. Take your mind off of the game and do something else, only 40 more days you can survive.

You'll forget? And you don't seem to understand marketing. Marketing is in full swing right now, there are ads EVERYWHERE. And you have the multiplayer reveal this month. You've had 5 trailers, hundreds of screenshots, 2 or 3 previews, what more do you want?

saintsrow
I'd like to know why the person bought the GTAV.com domain name in the first place? If it was to make a quick buck, then the person is an ass. Rockstar has their own real life version of Trevor on retainer, to negotiate with the cybersquatter and close the sale of the domain name. Just ignore the bodies....
r34ld34l
Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/07/tak...ute-for-gtavcom Take-Two has lodged more than two dozen disputes since the beginning of the year. Fusible notes that all decisions to date that have been issued by a panel have gone in Take-Two’s favour. The domain GTAV.com is currently registered to a resident of Spain and has been listed for sale by its owner. At the time of writing GTAV.com redirects visitors to the official Grand Theft Auto V website but the site has previously been a blog focussed on content related to GTA V. What do you think about it? I think they should just paid to current owner. If I register name, such as was xboxone.com, and then big company announce new name for console/game/or whatever, they can just take it? That isn't fair, or is it? Even for GTA franchise.

Hodgey.
I think that they should pay the oqner as he has it registered, definetly. However this is the way the world works the big companies like R* and others get what they want as they can afford the top lawyers who can always find a loophole or something. Its the way its always been and most likely always will.
CM_Kimmy
I really hate domain disputes, and as much as i like Rockstar, i hate how these big companies feel that somehow they can shake down the little man just because they have a domain they want. It was Rockstars choice to name the game GTA V, so they only have themselves to blame. It's mentioned that the owner of the domain has listed it for sale, so why don't rockstar just buy it? I don't like how alot of these big companies somehow feel obligated to any domain which resenates with their company.

A multibillion dollar company like Take Two can do whatever the f*ck they want and get away with it. Regarding the GTA V site, R* themselves said on the newswire that there will be an interactive site launched before release just like GTA IV. AtomicPunk
I'd like to know why the person bought the GTAV.com domain name in the first place? If it was to make a quick buck, then the person is an ass. Parasites do this everyday in the world just for money. If an item becomes popular, they buy all domain names so the companies have to pay big $$$$. Start researching who it is doing this and your eyes will open. OT: I think it would be a big waste of money to have an interactive site that fans are only gonna spend a month, or a few weeks on. It should've been up and running a couple months before launch. R* is so disorganized. just my opinion
arrowface10
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/take-t...ol-of-gtav-com/ I hope Take-Two can come out succesful and grab hold fo the Domain, so then GTA 5 can have it's own Domain. nuer
I saw that this morning means website launching soon This has nothing to do with the site launch, R* has it's own GTA V pageRockstargames.com/v The just want that domain to redirect to to their R* page, just like with gtaiv.com This. Also: www.gta5.com www.grandtheftauto5.com www.grandtheftautov.com www.grandtheftauto.com www.grandtheftauto.co.uk www.grandtheftauto6.com www.grandtheftautovi.com and many more. r34ld34l
They should paid for it and not just take it. If you went and register domain and then big company make a game, movie, or whatever with same name would you be happy that they would take it? Of course not!
