They've been after that website for an entire year, by now we'd already have the GTAV Website.. Something tells me they'll have to just use a new domain name, which I hope they do so they don't have to pay this twat for the website.

This has nothing to do with the site launch, R* has it's own GTA V page

Rockstargames.com/v

The just want that domain to redirect to to their R* page, just like with gtaiv.com

Gta hasn't been released under a 'Grandtheftauto.com' domain, they put it through their own official Site, 'rockstargames.com'

We already have the Official V site, it's been here since the first trailer.

the IV website launched TWO MONTHS Prior to it's release.. So, if you have a better answer to why Rockstar is taking so long please indulge me.

I'd like to know why the person bought the GTAV.com domain name in the first place? If it was to make a quick buck, then the person is an ass.

You don't get it. There will be no dedicated site.

If you search on your browser "gtaiv.com" It takes you to rockstargames.com/iv

The same would happen with gtav.com

R* and TTwo just want the domain to keep it as theirs, not because they actually need it.

It helps to market the site, since it's easier to type gtav.com than the whole R* page.

Sorry, apart from the confusion I posted why it seems Take2 seem to already own GTAV.com "Test it" but what the hell was with the barrage of threads a month ago about the V Website not Launched?

I doubt it. They used the "/iv" for GTA IV's site.

Is IV's official site.

Okay, you misunderstand again.

Mr Spooge believes there is a dedicated site hosted by itself for GTA IV called: www.GTAIV.com. Perhaps there once was, but not anymore.

He also believes GTA V will have it's own DEDICATED site.

Rockstar obviously is moving away from that and have since relocated GTA IV dedicated site to Rockstargames/IV. They are doing the same with V, it will not have it's own site, it will be part of Rockstargames in the form of Rockstar/V.

They are trying to buy www.gtav.com so they can redirect people to the Rockstar games hosted official site.

Either IGN is full of BS or they are fighting the domain.

There's one thing I know for sure. You can't spell "ignorant" without "IGN". That site has been redundant for years now.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, this might indeed be the reason why the official interactive GTAV website isn't live yet! It can happen any day now - Tomorrow might be a good day?

sh*t that's what I was thinking of confused.gif I remember them saying that which is why I was following the Launch a bit closer then usual.. Maybe this thread isn't as redundant as one may think, but it could still be nothing. Plus why does it auto direct you to http://www.rockstargames.com/V/ when you go to GTAV.com? Doesn't that mean they'd already own it?

That says the article, yes!

As I said the interactive website could go live any day now, tomorrow would be a good day I suppose.
