IF GTA V was remade on next gen consoles...

So I've been thinking about the next gen consoles now and the pc version of GTÀ V.

Well i figued that R* are going to release the pc version and next gen cosole version at the same time to try and make the games equal.

Now my question is if this did happen, just how different could the new gta v be from this gta v.

With all that extra power on both consoles and the mordern pc's how far could they improve the game.

Not much, since it would be just a port, if its ported properly, R* could add better textures and it would run on a better framerate, but nothing more.

If they did port it and upgrade the graphics, that would be it. They would only go far enough to upgrade the graphics, if that. I don't see any extra features being added, it's a waste of money, it'd be like GTA V Version 1.5. R* doesn't work like that.

the only major difference would be the graphics and the draw distance and that been said it wont be a huge improvement from what we have now.

oh an the gta online might allow more players

Better framerate/graphics. All of their textures would be high resolution. It will come out on next-gen consoles, probably around when it comes out for PC they'll be trying to maximize sales and they say they have a bunch of DLC planned, but no one is going to want to plug in their old PS3/360 6 months later to play one game, so they'll buy it twice for the DLC and next gen consoles. It's a great business strategy really, I bet 85% of the users here would buy the game again.

Either that or Gaikai, but I doubt it.

I would buy the game again for improved graphics any day of the week, I know they'd be cheating me, but hell, i'd do it anyway, case in point.

I'm a wannabe PC gamer with not enough time to justify a PC haha, so yeah, graphics come at me.

Better graphics/visuals - higher resolution textures, lighting, shadows.

Better performance - FPS, draw distance, anti aliasing, higher resolution (1080p)

More vehicles/peds going around

Better animation/AI.

Larger map area

Nah, maybe they release it along with the PC version. Being the same as a PC version on graphics, and so on...

If we lived in a Utopia, GTAV would release for next-gen. I'm still hoping it will. Here's what I want & expect:

-Recording & sharing screenshots & videos of gameplay (console feature)

-30fps locked (60 would be dreaming)

-1080p

-Infinite draw distance

-Realistic car & pedestrian density

-BETTER GRAPHICS THAT ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE THE SCREENSHOTS

-No loading times

-Larger player capacity in MP games

The 3 that I bolded are the ones I'm looking forward to the most.

A new rumor about the PS4 this week!

The rumour stated that the PS4 would reserve 3.5GB of its RAM for the console's operating system, leaving just 4.5GB for developers to make use of for their games

I really don't see a next gen port happening. R* only ever ported Bully that I can recall to consoles and that was to make it HD. R* haven't bothered making any game HD since then and obviously GTA V wouldn't be needed to be upgraded to HD as it's already there. I see it been put up for digital download untouched but that it.

Hypothetically though if it did it wouldn't be anything major just like when the PC version is ported from current gen consoles. A port most the time only happens if it's cheap to do in order to make more money. Anything major would cost time, effort, resources and money that could be spent elsewhere. Updated graphics, faster load times, video share features and more people in the multiplayer is the only things I can think about. I'd rather R* have a completely new game be there first next gen game such as Red Dead 3 or Bully 2.

Definitely better 3D models that rely more on polygons and less on textures for those small intricate details. More detailed 3D interiors visible through building windows from the outside.

Since the first screens released I'm convinced we've seen some of the enhanced version (next gen) along the current gen screens. Even if the game suffers changes during the developing it means they had a Higher version that they had to lower, so it means it isn't a port like IV was.

And thats what I'm expecting for the PC, and if that is the case the Next Gen version will be the same as the PC, which means something in the lines of Max Payne 3, with DX11, Tessellation, Higher textures, Performance, longer draw distance, more NPC's, more traffic, more fluid, better use of memory, better shadows, less or no pop up at all.

And by the looks of the "GTA Online" and all the sharing features, it looks like it is being done with the new gen consoles in mind.

But all we can do is speculate and see it when the time comes. A way or another I only have a PC so I have to wait no matter what.

It would look much better. A lot of graphic improvements in dx11 are stuff you can relatively easy add on top of the existing graphics. The post processing is much better, so stuff like DoF and motion blur. They can add displacement maps to anything to give extra detail. It's all stuff that can be done in the scope of a port, which is what it'll be. It won't be remade. They won't redo anything unless it's really broken, but dx11 alone would be able to elevate the graphics. And there's settings in the engine they can tweak. RAGE can scale up quite a lot and is a next gen ready engine for all intents and purposes.

If they put in a bit of work just adding effect and dialing up settings it'll make watch dogs look drab.

More textures could load faster and there would be no/less popping.

In GTA IV it can be very noticeable but in read dead you don't go fast enough for it to happen that much. I have faith in Rockstar though. They are aware as much as we are. As for graphics holding up. GTA IV<Read Dead Redemption<L.A. Noire<Max Payne

No it's not. Infact it looks to be false as numerous insiders and even developers have come out and said that it's false and there is even a game with 6GB used up in development

Seen it, but a DEVELOPER for the PS4 goes and says this http://retrocityrampage.com/blog/2013/07/522/ and I'm going to take all of that stuff from DF as rumors.
