college football

Yeah there are many appeals to college sports. As you said, localized teams plus the enthusiasm that university-aged fans bring with them. There's less bullsh*t when it comes to salaries, caps, trades, and all that nonsense that is associated with the professional leagues.

Plus, as the above poster mentioned, it's great to see players at the beginning of their sports career and watch them blossom into better athletes/multimillionaires as they progress. Another thing is the prestige and history behind a lot of the NCAA programs, they go back much further than most NFL teams.

That being said, the only turn-off for me with college football (and for a lot of people) is the BCS. Even though they're moving into a "playoff style" post-season, I doubt they'll ever be able to work out a way to rival the intensity of the NFL post-season.

I was born and currently live in Seattle. Always have. Went to Washington ('05 Alumni).

f*ck Oregon and f*ck the Cougs.

I also hope Alabama rapes the living sh*t out of A&M. I hate that ego-headed piece of sh*t Manziel and all of the fans of Texas A&M. Cocky ass f*ckers.

Washington is going to skull f*ck Oregon this year.

Doubt it. UDub is definitely improved but Oregon is on another level. There is a shot for an upset there but to be confident enough to say they are going to "skull f*ck" them is a little crazy.

Now if you were to say that Oregon is going to "skull f*ck" My Cal Bears this week, I wouldn't argue. Not because Cal's O isn't good but our Defense sucks. The Offense is actually pretty damn good.

I have to say I'm a little dissapointed Bama didn't 3peat. Would have really been something to see. Oh well. But with that said who do you think the VERY EARLY favorite is for next year? Keep in mind the new playoff which will change things a up. Im going with Alabama tbh. But my opinions could be changed after spring workouts and the season rolls around.

I'm Glad Bama didn't win. I hate Nick Saban. He is a Liar and complains about anything that doesn't go his way. But he is a f*ckign good college Coach.

FSU with Winston Coming back should be the Favorite. Bama will be up there. Oklahoma looked good in their win vs Bama. And Michigan State.

I'm just Hoping Cal can do something respectable next year. 1-11 was the worst Cal team I have ever seen. Not a good start for Sonny Dykes.

Also, I didn't renew for season tickets next year. I enjoy watching a lot of games on TV. Driving down to Berkeley every home game, You miss a lot of cool sh*t that happens in all the other games. I don't want to miss a bunch of cool sh*t while I am watching My Team get their asses kicked week in and week out. Plus the 2 hour drive gets old.

I was surprised at how well Sparty did this year. I know they have had some really good seasons recently but I didn't expect this from them.

Yeah it was kind of dumb but even if they had lost it still would have been impressive for FSU. They are used to being ahead by like 10+ points at the half and rolling to the win with no resistance so a Game where they trail like they did at the half and throughout pretty much the entire game and then be able to come back and take the lead late in the game is evidence that they can put themselves into a position to win in a game where everything may not have gone to plan.

Jamesis Winston is a idiot, but his leadership ability on the field, his knack for winning (still undefeated as a starter) and his skills make him a sure top 10 pick in the draft. But we all know his poor off the field decisions he makes.

Went to the OU game and witnessed my first loss in person. We have one of the best kickers in the nation, is our leading scorer in OU history, so he shanks two easy field goals that could've very well been game deciding points (especially 4th quarter 13 yard field goal miss)... not to mention extra point that got blocked.

I did get my hands on the best seats I've ever had.. about 20 rows up from the south endzone.

Yep.

Just look at AJ McCarron's situation(telling people teams told him he was a 1-2 round talent), not the same obviously, but when you screw up off the field, you will go in later rounds. Just like I see Winston doing.

If he keeps playing at a high level someone will take a chance at him in the 1st round, especially if it's a team looking for a franchise QB or a heir to a legendary QB. If a team like new england or new orleans get him and let him learn behind a great QB and mature, the skys the limit for the guy.

I'd be shocked and amazed if New England would even consider drafting Winston. Too much drama and attitude problems for ole Bill's tastes.

I'd bet on Winston crashing and burning over him actually going on to become a great QB.

"Bill's tastes"? That is the same guy who picked up Albert Haynesworth, by the way. The same guy who drafted Aaron Hernandez, despite his off-the-field issues he had at Florida. Bill doesn't care about stuff like that... only taste he has is winning.

Archie Manning dropped out of the playoff committee due to health reasons. Also people complain about the rankings system are probably the same people who bitched about the BCS. I'd rather have human eyes decide rather than a computer.

I concur. Anybody who argues that would be silly. I think it'd truly determine which conference was the best of that year.... it would also mean no out of conference games and with the possibility of shortening the regular season and I'm sure that means they'll lose money somehow by doing that.

They wouldnt really have to shorten the season. Rather just Make the playoff start right after the season. No waiting a month and a half to play the championship game.

Unless there is a rule for games in a season.

You could make it like the NCAA tourny and the teams who dont make it you take the next 25 teams and do an "NIT" tourny. Doesnt mean sh*t but its more football.
