I Have a Confession to Make

Sometimes I wish I could travel back in time to when I was a kid and Christmas felt exciting. Now I just want it to be over and done with.

All you need to do is have a kid of your own. Then you get a few more of those magical christmases, only you live vicariously through the little one.

 

My confession is related to this. I have a child and I still can't stand the holidays. I have to put on a show the entire time, pretty much. I love watching my daughter open her presents and spending time with extended family but after a few hours, I'm just done. I work every other Christmas anyways. Sadly, I'm starting to prefer just being at work away from the running around and the traffic where I can just do my job and be left alone. Bah humbug. Sad, I know.

 

Also, I'm putting this here because there's nowhere else I can share this atrocity:

I thought it was a FB post meant to be silly until this person called me 24 hours later asking me if he should be concerned that his face is still bleeding profusely (he's on blood thinners).

 

My confession is that I'm related to this person (I won't admit how) and they're going to be over at my house for the holidays. Send me well wishes.

Maybe I should have said for me.... but I can totally understand that. I felt that the last few years, but he's 3 now and is able to understand what's going on, so it's still new to me and also exciting for him.

A while ago I saw this poisonous spider at my friends place. My friend killed it. But if he did miss and the spider fell I would've left. it was freezing outside and I would've had to walk back to my place. But that didn't really bother me.
