I confess that I am kinda addicted to technology. Not because some tech allows me to browse the internet endlessly, but because of how far it has advanced. I'm excited for the future.

I think it's frightening for this exact reason. What happens when all entry level jobs have been taken over by robots and humans are no longer needed? The fact that McDonald's - employer of a hell of a lot of young people who might not have a job otherwise - has opened a fully automated restaurant sans humans is scary as hell.

I hear ya. It is amazing. I'm like the perfect age (or so I think) to have experienced first hand the craziness of the growth of technology. From 1 rotary phone in the kitchen, 1 tv in the family room that showed a total of 8 channels, no computers or internet...sh*t - I was blown when the first digital watches came out...to what we have now is down right f*cking mind blowing. No lie. No sh*t.

I confess that I start about 5 posts a day on this forum to challenge some of the mindless, blinkered, attentionally provocative, ignorant and obnoxious posts I read on this forum but end up deleting them and not posting because sometimes you can tell from just one post that you have no hope in helping someone see any other point of view except their own...

I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering ( even though I'm way intelectually behind other mechanical engineering majors) and I'm aiming to go to Grad school for business.

 

I think cars and investing is cool.

 

But honestly , I think I'd be a lot happier in the music field and owning a shop for weed and like other entheogens.

 

Too bad the latter is way less likely for someone to become sucessful in. When I finally learn Ableton or whatever DAW I decide to go with , there's still an extremely slim chance that a big name prodcuer will discover me. And the whole weed and psychedelica culture makes things being pretty difficult legal wise. I could see myself owning a shop like Azarius, but that's all the way in Amsterdam, and my parents wouldn't approve, and the business would likely never ever take off.
