I Have a Confession to Make

Am I compeltely alone in never having watched any Star Wars movie? The closest I've come is the Family Guy parodies and even those were really boring (and I really like Family Guy otherwise). I've also seen only one of the LoTR movies. It was so boring and dragged out I almost forgot to breathe.

... yeah I thought so.

Nope. Never had an interest in Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Disney movies. Everyone else seems to be though O.o

I can take or leave HP. I read a very scathing op ed of the series by A.S. Byatt once that completely changed my perspective on it. It's worth checking out.

Star Wars was my life as a kid. As an adult, I don't think it's as groundbreaking as people made it out to be, but the OT is still classic, and the ST looks to have a lot of potential behind it. f*ck the PT.

I watched a lot of Next Generation as a kid, but I wasn't an all-around Star Trek fan. Never have been, never will be.

But Disney? I love Disney--or at least its golden age. I'm in love with animation in general, but I always loved the format for Disney movies. The most recent one I watched, though, was The Princess and the Frog. It was enjoyable because it hit all the notes the greats of the 90s did, but it was missing a bit of the original magic. It's hard to explain.

Some Disney is okay. Like, I loved The Little Mermaid. I had an orange cat and my parents weren't sure if I named it Oreo or Ariel lol.

I was never a reader, still aren't. Probably why I never got into Harry Potter. But I never knew about Star Wars till I was older and never took an interest. Same with superhero stuff.

I'm into a lot of different stuff now though. I really like X-Files and Twin Peaks. :)

X-Files scared the crap out me as a kid. I can still remember hearing the intro music as dad was watching it in the evenings many years ago. I rmember sitting with him once and... since then I am of the opinion that X-Files is definitely not something that young children should watch.

You make me want to learn more about this show how scary is it?

The squeeze episode still gives me nightmares.

The problem with the current wave of franchise based movies is that either you die being a masterpiece or you live long enough to become shyte.

So i f*cking love LotR, but just that trilogy, i didnt care about the Hobbit, and it turned out to be meh, so i was right.

I was also very into Harry Potter, but those where 8 movies, and i just cant resist another spin off, just let it end, make something new.

The same goes with Star Trek, remember how stupid was Nemesis with its dumb Khan rip-off and that desert buggy fight? And then the new movies are just half backed rip-offs (JJ Abrams dares to call them "homages") of the previous movies.

And i would prefer if Hollywood stopped the nonsensical reboot of Fantastic 4 and Spidaman, MAKE SOMETHING NEW.

And Marvel just keeps pouring movies and at this point i just stopped caring, we already know how they end, we already know whats gonna happen and whos gonna die, i cant feel invested on them anymore. And now they are getting dangerously close to the point where the comics ran out of ideas.

And dont make me start with those "I cant let the Joker die" DC movies.

Probably the only revival i care for right now is Fury Road, that movie is a masterpiece.

I've only watched the movies and I found them more creepy as hell than scary, not sure about the actual TV show. It was all about aliens and other supernatural things.

The intro is really famous

You can't resist another spinoff or you want it all to end? Edited by Andreaz1

I still haven't played GTA V online. Even though I've owned V since the day of release and I loved IV online.

Not A Nice Person

I confess that this totally fair battle I made on comicvine was slightly unfair.

I don't know if it's me being an Elsa fanboy but she would totally stomp him

OT: I eat Nutella with my finger when I'm totally lazy

-I'm an atheist. I don't really like bringing this up though, it doesn't exactly contribute well to discussion.

-Guns >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Swords.

Is this even a confession? You can't confess fact.

Oh, she most definitely would. Here's me explaining (like, totally scientifically accurately) why she would defeat Hulk 2099, cheat-powered CJ and Dolan Duck all at the same time.

Also, I confess that the information I put forward about Elsa in the link above may be slightly complete bullsh*t.

Jerking For Soup

I used to like rap music, then I had a change of heart, liked pop music, then I changed, liked metal music and hated pop and rap, then I loved rock, and now I am a totally mixed music person, more on the rock though.

Been meaning to confess to this for months now....

I'm gay.

I used to think I was bisexual (already posted that confession on this thread ages ago), but I was still horribly confused and unhappy even then, making my depression a lot worse than it already was. Back in January, I finally said to myself - 'You can either accept your true sexuality now or suppress it and be deathly miserable for the rest of your life.' That internal conversation gave me the confidence I needed to finally accept my true sexuality...

Nothing wrong at all with being gay, what are you killing yourself for?

Precisely. My cousin is gay and he's still a nice person. No need to take your own life if your sexual orientation is different from another person's.

Mainly the people who use gay as an insult on the internet are evil homophobes.

Everyone goes through the Self-Loathing, Denial, or "Why?" phase of realizing and a fear of what will happen. You feel this way because society and your upbringing makes it feel shameful.

While you cant truly know how people will react when/if you tell them you're gay.....you can't deny who you are forever which you've already accepted. :^:

And....it's really no biggie. It's just a tiny piece of who you are as a person.

I have zero interest in anything to do with religion. I have no opinion whatsoever on whether god exists or not.

We all have our gods. Some are more tangible than others, but the systems of their existence are what we build our lives around, and society makes then inescapable.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

I don't like normal Oreos anymore. Those new Thin Oreos are the bomb. They give you more cookies but they're thinner. But they taste even better, at least to me, because they're thinner. But it takes you the same amount of time to eat one. So you're savoring them more and the pack lasts longer.

I bite my toenails.

I'm not very proud of it to be honest. It seems even more taboo than biting fingernails (which I do too), and I'm afraid if someone is ever gonna ask why my toenails are so short.

At least I keep my socks on most of the time.

Finally, a confession from you that isn't (comparatively) disgusting.

I don't think biting one's toenails is that bad.
