i watched frozen last night and didn't hate it

I like the movie but dislike the Let it go, Let it gooooo first time i heard it and didn't mind hearing it when it came on the radio but i made the mistake of buying my girls the soundtrack and now they blast that song on repeat for hours

 

 

i can understand the pain of parents who have to hear the songs on repeat. i knew nothing of the movie except for that song and a funny version of "build a snowman", but when she started to sing "let it go", and i now had context to the story.. i admittedly felt feelings and stuff

 

 

i may have also been slightly high

Under the "Likes" tab on your profile you can change from "Received" to "Given". If there are 15 on each page and you have 629 pages I'd say you have given out about 9500 likes

I think it's time to stop trying to recreate the 80's in movie form. For god's sake, do we need a new Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, TMNT, Transformers, Miami Vice, Goonies or Breakfast Club?

The new Mad Max film looks good though.

 

technically mad max is a 70s film

 

The sequels aren't and the new one seems to be taking most of its inspiration from the second film which is the most acclaimed one in the series.

 

None of them even speak with an Australian accent!

Personally don't find that too important. The action and crazyness looks spot-on and the director(who also did the originals) said that most of the special effects will be practical which is a very good thing.

 

But lets get back on topic now.

I think that the age off 16 is a bit too young to drive a car. They are still kids, they belong on a scooter and not behind a steering wheel. In Europe you can get a driver license on your 17th, but you only can drive when youre 18. Not sure though if its the same in whole Europe. 16 is too young imo.

The funny thing is, some MD politician wants to move the voting age to 16, he feels if your old enough to drive you old enough to vote..sigh

Yeah, much too true. I was making very poor decisions when I was 16. The very idea of 16-year olds being able to drive alone sounded absurd to me when I first heard it.

You have to be 21 to buy beer in New Orleans. I visited in '88 - '89...somewhere around there.

The 21 year old rule is a federal law. I want to say it became that way sometime in the 80's. Each state used to have it's own laws for drinking age and when the Fed law was enacted you could be grandfathered depending on your birth date. I was able to buy beer in Jersey and Virginia(where my dad lives) when I was 18 because I was considered of legal drinking age in those states before the Fed law of having to be 21+ to drink.

It varied from state to state, then the federal government wanted to push the 21 age limit for booze so they attached it to federal highway funds, saying they wouldn't give federal dollars to states who didn't have a 21 law. Colorado said "f*ck that" for years, just charging a higher tax on ski tickets to make up for the difference. Eventually they moved the age for liquor and normal beer to 21 but 3.2% beer was still sold to 18 and up. My dad had stories about visiting 3.2 bars, he said you just had to drink a lot more but it still did the job.. Then they gave in and upped it to 21 at some point. I don't think New Orleans can sell booze to 18 year olds.

I confess that I don't think the Budweiser commercial is really that bad, in the way it portrays Wolves, as people are making it out to be.

 

I also confess anyone with half a brain must realize what a non-confession that was, but I'm sorry. I'm feeling under pressure and I panicked.
