Lurch
How far down are the coilovers cranked? It always differs from car to car and coilover to coilover but I never like going too low with them. Like 3/4 of the way down. I'd say the Billies are made to still work great anywhere in the adjustment range though so I guess it doesn't matter.

Outcast
Thanks, what else do you guys think is worth doing? So far my planned mods for the near future are: - Silver Porsche Hood Emblem - Paint Brake Calipers (Yellow) - N/A Style Bumper to Euro - Stock Air Filters to BMC Air Filters - Quad Tips - Bumper Mesh (I'm sucking in a lot of crap like leaves and stones) - Wheel Spacers (maybe?) Sup3rman
Your Porsche looks great...but if i could choose, i would take the older on in the background E: I think it's a 993? Correct me if i'm wrong. Edited February 25, 2014 by Sup3rman
Outcast
It's a 964, all stripped out and modified for track use. The guy said it's got around 300bhp which is a significant improvement over what it came out with in the factory. I went out for a spin in it and that thing is absolutely brutal. Amazingly uncomfortable (though I guess most track cars are) but it's got killer acceleration and the noise that comes out of it is just bloody marvellous. The owner of the garage I get all my work done drives a 993 himself, and his place is sort of like the meeting place for 911 enthusiasts so you'll always get 911s of every generation ranging from Carreras to Turbos in and out every day. It's a pretty cool place to hang out and talk Porsche. We're also planning on heading down to Pen Bay International Circuit sometime in the summer to get some track time in. The owner introduced me to a friend of his who would be willing to let me rent his track ready GT86 (manual just fyi) to take down there. We'll see how it goes. El Dildo
Thanks, what else do you guys think is worth doing? well since you asked, I would have to find a nice low-profile spoiler. fantastic as it looks right now, I don't like the rear end of most Porsche's in general. looks too.... female to me. sorry, I'm not sure how else to describe it. it's just too non-aggressive for my taste. by low profile, I mean that I would find something like this to compliment the rear hatch: nothing too excessive either. not a drift wing, or anything. but a nice lip instead of the smooth hill that just falls off the back. that's just me... Lurch
Definitely put the ducktail on. Fitment looks good enough not to need spacers. I'm fairly against them when you have wheels like that. Hence why I think you should have gone lower offset from the beginning (and/or just wider 12's out back). Outcast, El Dildo and epoxi
Outcast
I had changed my mind about the spoiler because I quite like the way the body of the car flows, it's very organic and I don't want to break up the lines with a spoiler. Another thing is I'd have to get a front lip to go with a spoiler to evenly distribute downforce. For the front lip and spoiler, I think it'd be something I would do much later down the line (or whenever I start getting bored with how the car looks now). Lurch
I'm liking it. There's nothing about that car that screams that it's modified. Everything is so subtle like it should be. The casual observer would never guess you had 10 g's in top quality, aftermarket parts on it right now. To a car guy that can pick out the little details, it all looks and works quite well. epoxi
I like that it looks like someone's car. 99% of Porsches you see look like a rental or a lease: bone stock and bland like everyone else's. El Dildo, Outcast and AZAZEL
BCspeed34
Loving the car, I've grown to appreciate Porsche so much these past few years. I might pick one up down the road, once I get tired of my Lotus' clear lack of luxury features. There's a lot of "status" owners out there, driving purely because of the badge and not because of anything else. A lot of the 911s I've encountered on the road are completely stock but at the garage where I get my work done you're much more likely to see everything from mildly modded to full blown track ready 911s. The status owners aren't the type to hang around, plus they usually get their maintenance done at the dealership. EDIT: Got a better picture of the hood emblem. I think it goes a lot better than the stock Porsche crest as the silver goes well with the predominant black and silver scheme of the car. Outcast
The only thing in the interior that I've thought about changing was the steering wheel to one with the flappy paddles but I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon. This is the steering wheel I'm talking about, problem is it doesn't have the control buttons for the centre console which I use quite often whilst driving. El Dildo
I wouldn't feel comfortable changing the wheel either if it meant sacrificing my user controls. love that sh*t. never have to look down from the road while controlling the head unit. Lurch
I have never once used steering wheel controls in any car that had such a thing. Habit always has me using the dials and buttons on the unit, itself.
Outcast
Well I had a chat with my mechanic earlier today and it seems like swapping out the steering wheel could open up a can of worms so I've decided against it. I also discussed an ECU remap and on most of the Porsche forums I frequent, people seem to be going with EVOMSit for their ECU tune but over here it's a GIAC ECU tune. Anyone know anything about GIAC?

I wouldnt sacrifice the mounted controls for anyyhing really. They come in very handy once you get used to them
Svip
I must confess I am not really a Porsche fan, perhaps for the same reasons epoxi stated above: They are often too sterile when looked at. But I am liking yours. Although, as you might imagine, I do prefer the older 911s.
Outcast
Thanks Svip, I also prefer older 911s but probably not as a daily driver. I'm always on the lookout for classic 911s to hit the market but they're all in the hands of a select few, many of them owning more than one. None of them are willing to sell though but I've broken into their little club and have expressed my interest and if they ever do choose to sell I'll be one of the first to know. As always when it comes to collectibles like those, they usually get passed around a small group of enthusiasts and rarely leave the group.
