Well you could modify the main.scm so they can spawn heli too biggrin.gif .It's worth starting a new game

That'd be awesome, I can send you the heli model so you can look up how its hierarchy is done (it's VC heli hierarchy with some dummies renamed).

12 years and finally I get to fly in Grand Theft Auto 3. You sir are a true gentlemen. GTAIII will always be the best GTA in my opinion, so why not make it even better. wink.gif

I'll try to make a backwards-compatible main.scm for Steam users & CLEO haters - new SCM will work on old saves, but after you save old SCM will crash this save. I think it's fair enough though, who would want to get rid of the helicopters after he got them? tounge2.gif

what about adding a learjet from gta vice city (that white small plane object on the ground)? no need to add propellers. and using that big plane taking off sound at the airport for it? biggrin.gif

Well maybe you could add an invisible object id to the game(but has working collision) to act like the rotor blade and using opcode 035C: to attach it to the heli.Also the aircraft should be immune to crashing into thing.Instead the object take damage and the amount of damage it took will 'transfer' to the heli and if the object collide into ped they will be damaged.How's that?

It's an ASI mod, so pretty unlikely. I do more than just editing data files.

I wouldn't call it a porting but a feature enabling. It's all written inside the executable (thank goodness) except few things such as the handling.cfg reading part of the helicopter/plane specific characteristics. Seeing how the gameplay gets revised more times during the game development catches my carefulness.

Oh, modifying the main.scm is needed here to prevent unexpected stunts but not really. You can play with CLEO a bit by hooking the script buffer just like ASM hacks. tounge.gif

This is totally awesome!

 

I got a question though... You mentioned at some point that you're going to assign new sounds & new IDs for the choppers... Would it be difficult to mod your ASI plugin into the "more vehicles" plugin, to allow more than 9 extra slots?

I don't know. There's still some coding stuff left, and most of the vehicles aren't done yet. Features-wise though, the mod is pretty much completed.

@SilentPL I see you decided not to answer my question, but that's OK, I was just curious anyway. Great work on getting flyable choppers into the game... I once found (and did) something similar, but that was without scripting, I simply took the advantage of a bug, problem in GTA3. (more info here: How to add flying car in GTA3)

That's not a bug, that's a thing I'm using. ID 155 and 159 toggle helicopters, but they're glitched and can't take off.

 

Regarding the adjuster... III supports up to 120 vehicles, don't think you need more tounge.gif
