GTA IV was such a bad deal that they even made a proper version for Max Payne 3 ... stupid Rockstar wasting resources and money for a game that was stolen by guys with wooden legs and parrots in their shoulder.

 

I bet Rockstar isn't even thinking about the PC community, I mean for sure the community that grows everyday of 50+ millions on Steam will also steal it if they release it.

 

Damn why are almost all the developers porting old titles for PC in the last months? Some of them are even focusing in that platform and wasting money for something that won't give them any money... man these guys are really stupid.

It will come out, but not in 2013. Probably during summer of 2014. The PC version might come faster for GTA6 since next gen and PC use the same architecture, so making a PC port will be easier. Though I think R* will release it for consoles first so everyone buys it and the release for PC so people who want mods buy it again. That will work on me for GTA 5

If other developers are able to sell millions of copies of their games on the PC, pirating itself isn't that big of an issue as some developers claim. Some companies just refuse to look into the reasons as to why their product gets pirated in the first place. If you can tackle the reasons you can see people are far more willing to get games legally. Of course there will always be some people who will pirate no matter what but a few people should never be allowed to ruin it for everyone else.

Personally, I think it's hilarious how people spend $1k+ on a monster PC but are too cheap to actually buy their games and support developers. Its money not gained, not money lost. A pirate downloads a game and the devs don't get money, pirates don't steal the games worth of money from the dev. Even then a pirate might buy it anyway.

 

Not that I condone such action, especially with a R* game. I am extremely confident that GTA5 will come out on PC, eventually.

And Rockstar is not effected by Piracy on PC, only on consoles. Steam and retail is. Retail and Steam buy the discs and keys before we do - rockstar makes their money either way. I can't be sure it's still like that for Retail PC games, but when you buy a game on steam, you are not paying the developer, you are recouping Gabe and Valve after paying the developer for the keys to sell you. Retail is the vast minority now anyhow.

It's actually quite simple on how it works.

 

Valve buys keys from a company and when they get low on them they buy more.

On the large sales that they have had, some companies sold more copies in the first hours of the sale than they did up to that point. All those months after release up to the sale. All copies within that time was beaten within some hours.

 

I just want to say, if you do a little research on modern view of this, pc piracy is a complete non-issue to game developers at this point.

People didn't understand that yet, or they wanna believe in it.

 

The PC market is browsing each day, and since 2008 it's increasing by Billions each year, the Steam community is more then half of the total console community (XB and PS) and keeps growing each day with the retail market added. The last numbers indicate the PC market will overpass the current console market by 2015 and depending on the acceptance of the new gen consoles it might go even higher.

 

For this same reason lately every company is creating the games for PC's too or even porting games that were exclusive of consoles XB and PS like MK K Ed., Castlevania or Metal Gear Solid and even titles like Rayman Legends that was Wii U exclusive, and these are just a few examples, in the last months there are more and more announcements of once exclusive console titles coming to PC and some titles being lead by PC.

 

And honestly I wouldn't be surprised that some of the exclusive next gen exclusive titles heading to the PC later, like Dead Rising 3.

 

So whoever says PC gaming is dying, it's exactly the opposite, never the PC Gaming was stronger and so profitable.

And yet GTA V will most likely be leaked early on the Xbox 360 since that ALWAYS happens with every 360 game, enjoy having GTAV spoiled a week before it's even in your hands thanks to pirates that "only do it on PC".
