I mean there are allways references to movies and TV shows, and books and whatever else in GTA. I mean Vice City was basically one giant Scarface homage, and some of those refrences were the oposite of subtle like the last mission, which was more or less a rip of the last shoot out in the movie. There were diffrences but the whole set up of the mission was pretty obvious what it was paying homage to.

I think the only real references to Scarface was the mansion itself, the chainsaw apartment, and the final mission. I couldn't really pinpoint anything else.

The fact that it takes place in Miami could be a reference to Miami Vice. Starting from the bottom and working your way to the top has been a staple of near literally ever GTA game before it. Starting at the bottom and going to the top is pretty much a staple in every crime movie anyway

Which are alraeady a lot. If you take one point, like, the city, the beach, you corss that place many times and always got the idea of scarface, the hotel shootout.

It's not the quantity, how many references are there, but what impact the individual references got boy.

 

The city at that time, the music, the disco, coke, the temper, chainsaw, that guy who gets killed with the chainsaw, the mansion, the last shootout, the takeover of the business, ... everything reminds me of scarface.

 

Now you can go up against it, cuz you narrow minded, 16 year old can't accept it.

lol I broke the tie. Why are so many ppl saying no tho? GTA has always had references of other movies and nobody has complained. Now it's a bad thing? Wtf? BB is a really good show and I would love to do alot of the missions that are in the show like when they had the huge magnet in the back of that truck and used it to get to the laptop in the evidence room. Another was when they robbed the train which is basically just like the blitz mission in V. They had a truck block the tracks so the train would stop then robbed it.

 

There were also a bunch of cool ways to kill ppl that I would like to do in the game like how Gus poisoned the cartel or how Walter setup Gus either bomb. There was one episode where Jesse was about to kill these two guys and Walter came out of nowhere and ran them over. Then got out and shot them. I instantly thought of GTA after that. lol You can own businesses in V so I think it would be pretty cool if we could use a business as a coverup like Walter and Jesse used the pest control business to cook meth in ppls houses. The ppl saying no are trippin. Especially since all the past GTA's have references of movies in them.
