It just reminds me of how much I wish Mephisto was in the MCU. He was a big part of the Infinity War comic, and is one of Marvel's best villains, primarily because everything he does is for sh*ts and giggles and the best the heroes can ever really do is inconvenience him.

Seeing him interact with Thanos would have been great.

I think the theory that Loki will play Mephisto's role in the film would work fine tbh, in the Infinity Gauntlet comic Mephisto was not much more than a spanner in the works, he spent most his time being sh*t scared of Thanos.

I'd hate to be the one who had to arrange everyone's position in that photo. Yikes!

Just an FYI but I'd start getting wary about visiting Marvel/IW threads around the net or reading comment sections on videos etc, BP's credit scene details are out but also toy leaks have seemed to imply a 4chan plot leak may have been at least partially accurate.

Any one seen Black Panther? I watched it last night, thought it was pretty good.

Michael B Jordan as Killmonger was a great villain, with an actual depth of reasoning for being the antagonist. Definitely up there as a one of the great villains of the MCU. Oh and the line at the end of the film, had the whole cinema silent. In spoiler:

Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped the ships, they knew death was better than bondage.

To be fair, the whole cast was on point.

Surprised they never showed

the infinity stone, the one that gives powers to the purple plants

but it was a given, or it'll be explained in Infinity War. Well I guess we do see it in the trailer.

I was digging all the technology, culture/ clothing, really showing off Wakanda as being a stand out African nation with immense wealth / knowledge.

Guess that's it, MCU phase 3 done. Now on to the big one, Infinity War. 18 films in the making.

oh really? I was just going off this list I saw here, thinking each phase has 6 films each. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Marvel_Cinematic_Universe_filmsThat's fair enough then.

Yeah, it goes

IM-TA (phase 1)

IM3-AM (phase 2)

CW-A4 (phase 3)

Then its unknown whether or not theyre gonna continue the phases, but we know that the movie thatll start the new era will be SM Homecoming 2, which takes place just minutes after A4 if I remember correctly.

Black Panther. Best.Marvel.Film.Since.TWS.IMO.

Sooooooooo beautifully done it brings a tear down my eye. Killmonger is probably Cinema Marvel's best developed villain. You can either agree or not to agree with his perspective. He was done so well. I never liked Michael B that much, even though I enjoyed Creed but the dude done well and he deserves the respect he gets.

Wakanda Forever!

Panther was good, great soundtrack, visually they nailed Wakanda and the cast was pretty great overall. That said I feel like it was a bit of a Captain America 1 film in the sense that we never really got to see what Black Panther could do, though I suspect we'll see him go ham in Infinity War.

It's not been confirmed yet that Wakanda has the stone, the plants unusual properties were explained at the start by the Vibranium comet that collided with and altered the plant life and what not.

Black Panther’s domestic total for its first seven days brings is around $292 million which is like $22 million more than what Avengers had made, making it the highest earning Marvel movie in it's opening week, domestically ofcourse.

Also, I really enjoyed the movie. Michael B Jordan was just great. He was a formidable foe for Boseman's character. Additionally, the movie didn't have any unnecessary parts. It was short, to the point and enjoyable at the same time. It has been since I've enjoyed a movie wholly made in VFX. This one was nothing but enjoyable. Winston Duke's M'Baku really added a nice touch of much needed comic release in the all serious atmosphere during the second part of the movie. I hope his character will return in Infinity War.

With how well Black Panther did, I hope it encourages Marvel to take a try with other heroes like Blade or War Machine. I mean, Blade was great with Wesley Snipes and all, but as a Vampire hunter I'd love a new movie to have a horror theme to it. Wouldn't that be interesting? Trying to make a genuinely frightening film within the confines of a PG-13 rating? The original comics he appeared in, the Tomb of Dracula series, were incredibly unique when compared to other Marvel output at the time, so I'd certainly like to see that more sedate atmosphere transferred into a Blade movie.

Not sure if I'd want a Blade unless it's rated R personally, feel like it's a waste of a movie trying to fit it into a PG-13 film, but I think Blade would be a good option for a potential first step into R-Rated films for Marvel.

Id like blade to be a Netflix show to bring more supernatural stuff into that world.

Is this The Guy?

^^ Would love to see Blade as a Netflix show

Saw Black panther and thought it was great. There was a lot going on but it kept me interested throughout. Great supporting cast to go alongside Boseman. I thought Killmonger was excellent but I also really enjoyed Klaue

I know that killing Klaue was key to getting Killmonger into wakanda but I still wish the Klaue would have lived to be in future movies

I'd be game for a Blade Netflix show but only as long as Moon Knight gets one, hell, I think they would actually be two shows that could link up down the road ala Defenders.

Just saw Black Panther, finally.

It wasnt bad. Didnt blow me away or anything. Great atmosphere, the cast was great, the music was great, the story wasnt very strong in my opinion. It worked, and thats fine, but it didnt do much for me other than being coherent. Predictable, but fun. The strength of the movie was the characters.

Killmonger was absolutely the same old same old of MCU solo movie villains, in my opinion. Although probably the best in that mold of being a mirror image of the hero. He had depth, but also I was scratching my head at some of his decisions, that fell into the being evil for evils sake. Michael B Jordan killed it, though.

The women of the movie kind of steal the show. Lupita Nyongo Made me wish she didnt just voice a CGI character in Star Wars, as she is great. Danai Guirera is actually playing a character more badass than Michonne, and she does it well. Letitia Wight as Shuri was charming as all hell.

Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis were all in good form.

If Im going to be honest, and its not a slight against him, but Chadwick Boseman might give the weakest performance of the cast. But thats kind of a hard cast to be the lead in, when you have murderers like Whitaker and Serkis around you. Once again, not a criticism, just a great supporting cast.

I cant believe Infinity War is almost two months away. Gotta start my whole series watch through.

I think Chadwick certainly had a tough time making T'Challa stand out - not because of any shortcomings of him as an actor, but because stoic and noble characters are less appealing to an audience than bombastic and snarky villains or comic relief.

It's an extreme example, but think back to Michael Corleone. When he was a ruthless monster in Godfather Part II, people loved his character, but when he goes through a redemptive arc and regrets what he's done in the third part, a lot of people tuned out - not through Pacino's acting, but just a distaste for a more mellow and measured protagonist.

This. And Jorden's Killmonger felt bit like Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. He proves too much for T'Challa and seems a superior anti-hero compared to the guys he (T'Challa) has faced in Civil War. Even without the Black Panther powers, I didn't assume him to fall out so easily, lest to his death. A stab would have seemed somewhat more convincing (not that it should actually happen).

April 27th in the UK

Feels a bit surreal that we're finally this close to it, been a loooong build up.

Edit: Actually seems like they might have just moved the worldwide release date to the 27th too.
