You really do not know how powerful Doomsday is, do you? Batman is a puny human who can't do f*ck all to Doomsday, he has no clue what it is and will not last 1 milisecond against him. Unlike Superman, he does not hold back, is evil and is a giant sack of pure power. Wonder Woman would also get hammered by Doomsday, she's powerful but not that powerful, Doomsday is what his name suggests, doomsday.

He killed Superman in the comic called "The death of superman", he beat Supes to death. Took out the Justice League like swatting a fly. There's a reason why Darkseid, who's the most powerful villain in the DC Universe, has never faced Doomsday before, in fact he tried to clone him but didn't go to plan.

 

Although in the new 52 version, they've slightly toned him down more, but he breaks Wonder Woman's arms, and easily battles the JL.

Seriously though, Doomsday is overkill. I'm not sure how he'll be treated in this version though. The trio would probably destroy it and there will be like an after credits scene where it shows him coming back to life (Like that bad Deadpool version). Maybe this Bat will investigate its birth place and get Luthor to talk, showing that Detective side of the Bat. Analyzing the room, finding out that Doomsday is just a human who volunteered for the experiment, or something like that.

In MOS on the scouting ship, they're iirc 4 pods or chambers [how ever they are called] in one of them a body is missing. Could that be Doomsday or who else?

Nope, it's just an empty pod. Doomsday is created in this film using Zod's lifeless body, and he wasn't dead until near the end of MOS. Bats or Lex have never met in MOS, the only exception is Bruce watching the destruction of Metropolis capital.

Well if she is introduced in MoS 2, then it's the most likely scenario, yes. She'll find Clark and explain how Zor El sent her to Earth to find and join him to live a better and meaningful life as heroes. I think that's not her pod though, Zod took control over Krypton and took the ship, so there's no way Zor El could have put her in the ship without him ever finding out, so the only explanation is she was sent in the exact same way as Clark in a small and secure pod/spacecraft that landed on Earth.

I've got a feeling he's saying this to someone important, someone like the city mayor or something to manipulate him. In lex's eyes, once there is someone like Superman and Batman, then there's going to be more eventually, and that's why he says the red capes are coming because he's referring to future superheroes appearing to the public. Or it could simply be a poetic phrase, or a well thought out trap.

If you've even cracked open a Superman book in the last 5 years then you'd know that MoS was hardly out of step with that.

 

Also, please save the New 52 Superman isn't the real Superman comments.

I think a lot of people disagree with what they want superman to be. Some people who have never read the comics see him as Christopher Reeves. Some people read just the classics, the defining works of the character. Some people only read the old stuff, some the new stuff.

 

Superman has evolved. But it's not apparent like Batman. Batman has very clearly changed from the golden age, to the silver age, to the 80s, 90s, and 2000s and the New 52. But people don't seem to want to see that happen with Superman. They want him to stay the way he was when they read his comics or saw his movies.

 

I think a lot of people aren't and don't want to be understanding about Man of Steel. They don't want to accept that when he fought Zod, it was the first time he was Superman. He caused damage and destruction, and killed Zod, because he had never done that before. He didn't realize the consequences would be so severe. He's a boy from Kansas. He's never seen anything like that fight either. He's not prepared for it.

 

NOPE! That's just not acceptable for some people. They want Superman to be all knowing, infallible, and... Dare I say, boring.

i'm not the biggest superman fan, but i liked man of steel and thought it was done pretty well. the only thing i didn't really like about it was the casting of lois, which is more of a personal thing

And those are the types of people that eventually got Superman Returns to come out. I blame that on the idiotic fans who want to destroy the most iconic superhero of all time. Adapt to changes, clearly very positive one's, and f*ck your fanboyism. He still is the comic book character we know, but superman at his early stages needs to be flawed and always has been flawed, that's how he learns to mature and improve by himself, AND especially with the Justice League. Fighting Batman is going to be a life changing event for him, that's one of the highlights of this and Zack clearly is putting a lot of effort in that.

 

I don't see why R Rating is a problem? If anything, that opens up to new ideas for them, with no restrictions unlike PG-13 rating where they will have to tone down at least a few things that might not have made it into the final cut.

Not what i was saying at all, granted, i'm not big on Superman, IMO, he's too overpowered, his gallery of rogues is not the best and he feels outdated at times (the secret identity and costume are the biggest examples of this) but they took away the only thing i liked about him: his idealism.

 

I don't want a Superman like Christopher Reeve or Brandon Routh, didn't like either of those movies sorry, i don't want Superman to reverse time by flying fast, but i also don't want him decimating a city by mistake on his first fight, f*cks sakes, even Goku always took the fight on a desert or a far away place to avoid destruction and casualties.

I remember a comic about him fighting some new age "edgy" vigilante squad and of course, he won at the end using one of his thousands of ridiculous powers, but the comic touched some interesting points, like his no killing policy spelling disaster and some more stuff, but Superman replied with "What's wrong with the old american way?" or something of the sorts, like f*ck, is Superman is that bad the only way to make him interesting is to turn him into someone grief stricken?

 

Now the possibility of Superman rated R reminds me to the Ultimate Marvel comics, they tried to set the characters to today's standards by adding more violence and sex but was just cringy, like Hulk being a cannibal, Tony Stark having a sex tape with Black Widow, incest between Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch and dumb sh*t like that.

Superman being overpowered is literally an overstatement. If anyone is overpowered, then put Flash right on the top with no one else in any universe coming close to him. Hulk is overpowered, Thor is overpowered, Captain Marvel is overpowered, Martian Manhunter overpowered, Doomsday and Darkseid hella overpowered, this overpowered thing doesn't mean sh*t because it's not real. Comics and movies are here for a reason and that's to entertain.

 

Also, how did Superman decimate a city with Zod? Was it his fault that Zod hated him, wanted him dead and wanted to cause Havoc because he saw a Kryptonian citizen, now a farm boy on Earth as an enemy to him? Zod was a militant, he trained his whole life and add that to his evil motives, then Superman couldn't do sh*t about taking the fight elsewhere when Faora and the other guy also bossed him. His first challenge as Supes and he was to deal with this sh*t already. This is the worst excuse I've ever heard about the mayhem that was in metropolis.
