Since Video Games are legal and a very profitable entertainment medium, there was nothing he could do. But the funny thing is people need to look at movies before they look at Video games. Movies have had alot more controversial and graphic content than video games, not to mention they were here first. My point is if you plan to attack entertainment, you have to attack it at its core, in which case you will always lose because like I said, its very lucrative. They don't cause any danger to anyone, unless they are very young children and/or mentally handicapped as is. In which case, they shouldn't be playing the game in the first place. There was even a study that Obama just had done, which proved that violent video games have next to no effect on the emotions/behaviors of those playing them. Video games deserve no more scrutiny than any other entertainment medium. If there is a movie that is dark, scary, and gory as f*ck, people have no problem saying "Don't watch this movie, it's scary." However, you don't see people marching into courtrooms or out in the streets saying "This movie is poisoning our children!! Get it out of theaters NOW!!!" Terrible double standard... Posted July 19, 2013 Share Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) He's onto other things now, he is done helping build credibility and sales for the GTA franchise by being cast as the role of "Christian lawyer detractor" and running that whole thing in such a way that others would not have a chance if they tried. Jack, thanks for your help. Without you, who knows what crazy people would have come out of the woodwork - having you there as a lawyer, as a friend, was really great, to the GTA series and Rockstar and all of the Fans. Thanks for "leading" the charge "against" GTA bud, it really helped a lot, and definitely was a perfect way to avoid the actual detractors ever gaining ground At least that's ONE thing decent about florida. Of course, if Jack was really serious, and he just really resents free speech, it's just yet another crazy and messed up thing about Florida. And on the most serious note, without GTA, people like Jack would not have a tool to use to appeal to the moral fibers of people. He may portray that he wants GTA eradicated at the time, but come on, he is a Lawyer and he for one will never ever want to lose the first amendment. If he does, then he deserves to die, if his goal of attacking and banning GTA would be the domino effect to ban all kinds of other free speech, then sure, bullet to the head, whatever. But if he is just using it to say even "hey, even if you do play and enjoy the game, please people, use your brains and see that there is a cause for concern with this kind of media, and we should all really appreciate that life shouldn't be that way, and hope that we can keep our lives from being that way". If that's all he was saying, cool. He got to speak, got to get the less-popular message of respecting women and living an upright life out, don't mind that he used GTA to do so, because GTA didn't get hurt in the long run, it did better. So I can appreciate Jack. But I wouldn't want him to nor would I tolerate him jumping at Rockstar again, I'd write a book, all over the internet and crush him. Edited July 19, 2013 by brian.
