universetwisters
Yo guys. I was looking up George Carlin sketches last night, and then I got redirected to Thomas the Train, seeing as George Carlin narrated it, and then I found out they were still making the show. I decided to see what some of the newer episodes were like, and then I found out that they do it all on computers now. That sucks. The models were much better. If anything, general Thomas The Tank thread.
Tacymist
I always loved the models they used, a lot of the show's charm was found in them. It's sh*tty to hear they switched to using CGI though.

Kwabs
The new episodes aren't what they used to be. My little brother watches it a lot, and it's just not the same anymore.
Finn 7 five 11
Another topic about bloody trains! What is it with you? Anyway, I vaguely remember watching this when I was 4 or 5, nowadays the voices just make me laugh.
Lock n' Stock
I had a VHS tape that carried a Thomas episode, as well as numerous viewings on TV. Good memories. Didn't know it was well-known in the US. Also not surprised about the use of CGI. It's easier to do after all and saves lazy filmmakers time. I remember getting quite a bit of toys from the show as Christmas and birthday gifts too. Good stuff.

I know George Carlin had a show called "shining time" or whatever where he played some conductor dude and the show had clips of thomas the train. Looking back on it, its funny how they let George Carlin narrate it.
PerceptortheShootist
This was the stuff of legends when I was little! The charm of Thomas has been taken away once CGI came of use. My mom loves these little dudes. She displays the ones I had as a toddler on the TV drawer. I had a box that was sculpted as Thomas that could open and you were able to put in the trains into their designated spots in the box. It's where I've had all the trains for years after I outgrew them.

And afterwords my grandparents would drive me to Sunday school. Ahhh, there's that nostalgia coming by to kick me in the ass again.
UrbanTheEmcee
Those trains always bothered me when they made the angry face. You shouldn't do that to a child.

d0mm2k8
George Carlin took Ringo's place after the first season. Ah, we got someone different in the UK after Ringo left. But yeah, I'm surprised that the US got Carlin. Pretty cool.

I think the dude who played James Bond, Pierce Bronsan or whatever, narrated a couple years ago. I could be wrong, though
TheGodDamnMaster
I adored the tv program when I was very young. I can barely remember it, but it's mainly the theme song that sticks with me.
