GTA5 Graphics based on trailers is like C+ or B-

 

Compare to Battfield 4, The Last of Us, Tom Clancy's The Division, Watch Dogs for etc.

Funny, because the most immerse games with the best atmospheres i've played were all PS1-PS2 games, despite them having bad graphics.

PC version included a mode that improved the visuals for those with brand new for the time 3DFX cards. I remember me and my neighbour rushing out to get a card, and being blown away at being able to use this setting.

Hey! I spent many hours playing the original GTA I absolutely loved it! It did push the visual effects, but opinions and such.

 

On another note though, Visual Studios should forever burn for that horrible Playstation port they did.

They're doing this so they can make more and more money. If V wasn't this awesome I wouldn't even give Rockstar my money. They don't deserve it anyway.

There is no reason to be thankful to PCs? I don't understand why we should. It's their choice to respect them and from what I've seen many console gamers don't like PC gamers cause they keep complaining that current gen is holding Rockstar back.

 

I only insult those who have it coming. Those that make threads about there being less trees in the mountain. Do PC gamers really care about the amount of trees in the game? I can tell you console gamers don't. We care about the gameplay and already had a GTA that was only for graphics ( GTA IV ).

Gta has always been about activities, missions, crazy stunts, map explorations, etc. As fans of the series, we've never really cared about how the game looks graphically, why now when someone shows us a couple of tree removal pics we start to worry whether or not the game is gonna be worthy? Come on now, all I want from this game is a big map to explore and activities.

Everythings about graphics these days. When actually it should come down purely to gameplay. If you only play GTA because it looks nice......You are not a loyal fan at all.

I would. I loved SA and played it for years. If it lacked euphoria and stuff, then maybe i'd dislike that, but overall I wouldn't really care.

Who the hell doesn't care about graphics? I don't care enough for a few missing trees to be a deal-breaker, but it's good to care about graphics. They're a huge part of the game. It's just become popular lately to call people "graphics whores" and whatnot because they want their games to look good. Of course the amount of tree's is important.

I would love to see a forest in GTA where you could get lost or has a small town in the middle of it.

You can't get a forest if you can't display more than 50 tree's at the same time.

 

And I'm not saying I'm not happy now, but why wouldn't you want improvement? Just imagine a game where every leaf on every tree is different and moves separate in the wind.

Those who care about "latest" graphics are teens and mostly younger people,who as some have said havent experienced 90's era,as a guy who started on Atari->Sega Genesis->PSOne->PS2 and now Xbox 360. Games are not about graphics only of course GTA wont have Crysis 3 graphics. I still play Pokemon games on GBA emulator on my android and I've put days of gameplay time in them and not even for a second I thought"God,this game looks bad". Also thats one of reasons why Nintendo DS in one if not the best handheld gaming system. ..GTA ftw :3

Those specs are there to help forum members see which one is better. Have you played games back in the day? Not PS2 or PS1? Like N64? Back then games were not about graphics but about gameplay. Most people I hear today that are graphic whores are little kids, pc gamers (I understand them ), causal gamers.

To answer your question: since ever. Because if you as a player want to have any chance to get immersed in the game the world has to be somehow believable. And that means keeping up with trends in graphics. Simple as that.

I've always thought the graphics of GTA were suburb of the time period. Started at GTA III when my brother borrowed it from a middle school friend and i was just in like 4th-5th grade. I've always loved it. just the openness of the game. Deff one of the best games of my childhood. and now my adult hood.

The Graphics are amazing in my book, especially considering how huge the map is with so much detail, and it's running on 8 year old consoles. The game will look at least as good as RDR, if not better, and I don't remember anyone ever complaining about RDR's graphics, so why are we complaining now?

 

And please, don't compare GTA V's graphics to Watchdogs, Watchdogs is going to be on NEXT gen consoles, so comparing them is not fair at all.

I started with a Specturm+2 128K as my first computer, and Nintendo 8-bit system as my first console. I agree with you about older games having more actual gameplay, I'm not a fan of screen prompts "press this button" to do cool thing that's rampant in today's games.

I just think it's crazy that people are called "whores" because they want to see the next evolved step in gaming. I don't want to see anything stay at it's current place, and that include graphics. They started caring in 2008 when R* changed the theme of the game to Gritty Realism.

 

GTA V is rather, Flashy Realism, seeing as 99% of the map is not concrete like IV's Liberty City

Totally agree. GTA always focused on gameplay and resonable graphics, and I think GTA 5 will focus a bit more on graphics. But yes, the basic idea of GTA is to have fun playing it
