PHOENIXZERO
EDIT: Skyrim is around 10 square miles in playable area IIRC, just feels bigger because you're on foot most of the time or on a horse that doesn't move very fast. They also use a lot of the same textures repeatedly that are largely low quality and models and have limited amount NPC voice work. The size/area of the game's world isn't what dictates the amount of storage required, it's what populates it and of course audio and if there's pre-rendered cut scenes then those eat up a ton of space though open world games generally avoid them for various reasons, at least multi-platform (or XB360 only) ones. Then again, there is going to be video used in the game just as it was in IV, maybe this time with the two disc approach it won't be as compressed as it was on the XB360 version. Imagine they'll have more stuff for TV and Internet than GTA IV. But it's a different case with Pre-rendered cutscenes used for the game itself since it can cause issues if you can change your character's appearance. Dunno, I don't work for rockstar...Uncharted is over 80 gb, I'm surprised about gta v. Anyways idc i just want to enjoy the game. What? No PS3 game is over 80GB, hell no PS3 game is over 50GB because that's what the the PS3's Blu-Ray drive is limited to. PS3's games are bloated from higher quality audio and sometimes video along with some games that have gone the route of placing duplicate data across the disc to improve loading. Magic_Al
GTA won't use pre-rendered cutscenes because they wouldn't show your character's custom clothes. Games that offer customization then don't care if the cutscene matches suck.

Skeloton
What are pre rendered cutscenes Its basically a pre-recorded video so a game doesn't use the engine (or whatever its late for me and im starting to frazzle) to render the cutscenes. Final Fantasy games are an example of it.
