Travís.
I was playing GTA IV just then, with in 10 minutes Dwayne rang me 4 times, and Roman rang me 2 times. It get's really annoying. Do you think friends will call you as much in GTA V? To be honest, I hope not.
d3ex2
They won't. If you want to do something you'll have to phone them up. I can't remember where it was said (maybe GI) but they've got rid of the ridiculous friend/girlfriend system in V Maybe the odd time you'll get a phone call from someone but it will be nothing like in IV. Finn 7 five 11
Yeah pretty sure a preview said there was no relationship meter and friends don't call you/very rarely do.
voyager
it's not clear whether this will never happen - i imagine for many activities it will happen exactly once ( for example to introduce the whole tennis thing, michael may call you and say 'tennis, anyone?' the first time, to let you know the minigame exists, but won't pester you after that ) and then it will be up to you to call them, like in TLATD you could hang out with other members of the Lost but they waited for you to call them. No, they actively called you. They just toned down the call's frequency, Terry just called me and asked me to go see a show.

Evil.Tim
I think GTAIV was too good, so people had to find something to complain about. How come everyone seems to find these calls so annoying? Ignore them for god's sake. Or better yet, turn your phone off if you're just messing around the map.

Mokrie Dela
GTA IV sometimes threw calls at you but even now, in my current playthrough, i'm not getting that many. Either I'm the only one who doesnt get this that much, or other people are overexagerating. I will be disappointed when this isnt in V - it helped make the world feel alive and you werent alone. Do you think friends will call you as much in GTA V?To be honest, I hope not. It got really annoying, Can't i just go and cause Havoc without getting "Lets go Bowling" or "Hey Man, You wanna go eat, Every 2 mins. Thats why I ended up putting Sleep mode on, But it would automaticly go away after I done or mission or after i played a mini-game, Then I would forget to turn it back on and would get the annoying phone calls. But hopefully stuff like this does not happen in V. I want to explore and cause Havoc without getting introrupted for a sissy game of Bowling. Just hope they put the Sleep mode function on the phone aswell.
Bertanius
I loved being called up by Roman and asked to go bowling. I don't get calls since I've had it on permanent sleep mode with the trainer (I turned off sleep mode recently). I could imagine you getting called, but not as often, I also think that saying no won't make the assumption that you don't like that friend (although the 'cancel plans' workaround worked fine). .Emmi
They won't. If we want to do something with them WE can call them via our phone, but they definitely won't. Rockstar learnt from IV - would you like to have your phone ringing every 5 minutes for "Hey Michael, let's get bowling" - it was getting really annoying in IV - glad Rockstar got away a bit from this friendship stuff in V. kastrenzo
You could turn your phone on sleep mode, it would block all calls and possibly pause storyline progress. I just never noticed it until I had the PC version
